Shun was shy in middle school and had no friends there at all. Once he started attending PK Academy, he began to change his personality to appear more adult. However, he developed a chuunibyou personality. He acts confident and cocky at school, claiming to be incredibly powerful and talking about how an evil organization called The Dark Reunion is after him and controlling the Earth in hopes that other students will think he's cool. — Despite all his attempts to impress everyone, he has few friends outside of his group of associates, and is something of a loner at school. He is physically very weak, is terrible at sports and physical activity in general, and cannot swim. — Aside from his delusions, Shun is skilled in his studies because his strict mother makes him study hard in order to succeed. He has high grades in his class, proving that he doesn't get too distracted by his studies. However, education doesn't equal well-rounded intelligence, as he's not good at drawing sketches and thinks hairdressing clinics are hospitals. He's also shown to be recklessly brave at times, putting himself in danger to protect his friends and others. For example, he thoughtlessly jumped into the path of a snake that was trying to attack a classmate. He didn't consider what would happen to him until he was already in front of the snake, which Kusuo had to intervene in.

When Shun was in high school, he had the personality of a nerd. He wore his hair down, with his bangs covering his face, and wore glasses. He decided to change his appearance when he entered high school in hopes of gaining friends. Currently, his hair is spiky and he wears contact lenses. In reference to his chuunibyou, he wears red bandages on both of his arms to seal his "powers." He is the shortest boy in his class, and is also shorter than most of the girls. — At school, he wears the standard male PK Academy uniform, designed to fit his aesthetic. His shirt has a frayed collar and is also torn in other places. During his days off, he dresses casually. Whether or not he is in uniform, his arms are always covered by red sleeves or bandages (similar to a boxer).
