Homura (Senra Kagura)

In high school, Homura didn't think about becoming an evil ninja; she's actually descended from a clan of good ninjas. Since her first year of elementary school, she had been training to become a ninja. Her teacher in high school was a college graduate of sorts. Every day she was training and under great pressure from her parents, along with the accumulated stress. Her teacher was a kind of 'oasis' for her. He would listen to her talk about meaningless things, etc. He was a 'special person' for Homura.

In her second year, she spoke to her teacher about her plans after high school. She revealed the secret of her ninja family to him so he would keep it a secret. Upon receiving this information, her teacher attacked her, thus revealing himself to be an evil ninja.

This caused a fatal shock to Homura, causing her to not remember anything that happened next besides her master's bloodstained face. She says that if she hadn't met this ninja, she could have just been a normal high school student. Homura was kicked out of her home for good because of this act, and even her parents didn't listen to her pleas.

Betrayed by the people and disowned by her parents, Homura wandered the streets when she was confronted by a woman, who offered her the option to join Hebijo, saying that "The past doesn't matter, Hebijo welcomes anyone. Evil ninjas are more tolerant than good ninjas." This woman was Suzune, who became her teacher and Homura entered Hebijo.

Homura has tanned skin and her hair, which is dark brown, is tied into a long ponytail with a white ribbon, the ends of the ribbon being placed horizontally upwards. In Skirting Shadows and Burst, she wears the usual Hebijo Academy uniform, which is black sailor fuku with red stripes. Like Asuka, she wears wrist guards on her forearms with bandages underneath. She wears loose-fitting white socks over brown dress shoes.

In Shinovi Versus, Homura wears a short black dress resembling her old uniform, which she covers with a small brown jacket, with samurai armor on each side of the leg. Around her neck is a long black cape with white trim.

In contrast to her beautiful appearance, Homura has a rather cold attitude. She can be calm but becomes serious when the situation demands her. She is not a very talkative person as she believes that actions speak louder than words. She also follows the ideal of her ex-sensei, Rin, that silence is a ninja's best weapon.

She can be quite impatient at times and tends to be stubborn when it comes to solving a problem. Her desire to do things her way tends to lead to awkward situations, especially if it's related to Hanzo. This usually leads her to contradict herself and is often teased by her classmates for this; being called, especially by Haruka, a nonsensical thinker who often doesn't want others to know how she feels.

Homura 12 Homura showing her excitement for a good fight. When fighting, Homura becomes very intense and focuses mainly on testing her opponent's endurance to see if they are worthy of even fighting. This is especially depicted in her rivalry with Asuka. When fighting a very weak enemy, she can become cruel and is not afraid to kill another if the occasion or reason presents itself.

Homura has shown that she has trust issues as a result of her history as a ninja. She hates being tricked, but accepts the fact that she can be used as a tool in the shinobi world. Her own relationship with her teammates wasn't always strong, seeing as how none of them ever counted on her. But after the incident that sent her into exile for good, her relationship with her teammates became stronger, as they chose to stick by Homura instead of leaving her. She now has a strong desire and responsibility to become a leader strong enough to not only lead her team, but protect them as they grow into ninja.

Homura in her Crimson Fire Mode. Homura is a fierce fighter who wields six katanas. She cuts through everything around her with her swords and defeats her enemies with ferocious attacks, and her combat capabilities allow for a wide variety of powerful attacks to strike. The nodachi on her back is a powerful tool that allows her to enter her "Scarlet Fire" mode. This sword also allows her to wield all seven of her swords (including the nodachi) and act as a guide and facilitator for her fiercest attacks. In this case, she becomes much more powerful than before, as the scarlet energy flowing through her body and the sword fuse together to make her a monstrous foe.
