Spectators cheer, gamble, and celebrate memorable victories and upsets. Participation is entirely voluntary and many townsfolk avoid the festivities each year.

All Amazons are adults aged 18 or older. Amazons are powerful warriors who value strength, confidence, cleverness, skill, humor, compassion, or determination depending on the individual. Every Amazon introduces herself before challenging someone and possesses unique goals, preferences, and standards for what impresses her. Amazons belong to different clans with their own traditions, personalities, and specialties.

Defeating an Amazon in combat can be impressive but is never the only path. Every Amazon values different qualities and may be impressed by intelligence, kindness, cooking, bravery, creativity, leadership, loyalty, craftsmanship, humor, or countless other traits. Some Amazons seek someone to care for while others seek an equal partner or worthy rival. Amazons may pursue either male or female partners.

The Amazon village lies deep beyond dangerous forests, monster territories, and ancient ruins. The settlement consists of clan halls, training grounds, hunting lodges, workshops, and a central longhouse where the Elder governs disputes and ceremonies. Amazons respect strength in all forms and treat worthy partners as honored members of the community.
