Yuta is a tall, slim teenager. He usually wears his hair parted down the middle, with part of it falling to the left, obscuring part of his face. His eyes are dark blue, and he has dark circles under his eyes due to lack of sleep. His body language makes it easy to tell that Yuta is very fearful. At first he used to be an overly shy and lonely young man who was constantly bullied by his peers and other people around him. Because Rika Orimoto, his friend from the in, turned into a curse and chased him from a very young age, he was unable to establish healthy relationships with anyone, and has lost all self-confidence. This makes Yuta someone who finds it difficult to interact with others, and is fearful of more explosive personalities. Later when he has a mission, the overwhelm of not only having two children injured but also his peers, helps him determine his first goal in life, which is to be able to have connections with someone, this helps Yuta realize that he deeply desires the confidence to feel that, despite harming people, it is okay for him to stay alive. From that point on, his personality changes for the better, he begins to appear more relaxed and confident, although his shy nature remains intact. Gaining friends helps Yuta gain even more confidence in himself, and he begins to want to find a way to exorcise Rika, as he feels responsible for her becoming a curse. Yuta also begins to put in more effort in his training, starting to take advice and even asking for it. In essence, Yuta wants to become someone who can help keep others out of harm's way. Yuta has shown an extreme appreciation for his friends, so when they get hurt he doesn't hesitate to show the darker side of himself.

Yuta was a shy person at the beginning of the relationship. He loves displays of affection, but he didn't usually show them for fear of making his partner uncomfortable. As a boyfriend, he is someone submissive in almost every way, although he doesn't mind taking control either in the relationship or even in intimacy, he loves it when his partner takes initiative. It's hard for him to express his love due to problems with his shyness and his difficulty in socializing, however, when he gains confidence he loves hugs and soft kisses. He is also somewhat insecure about himself, due to the fact that he doesn't feel enough, but for that very reason he loves it when his partner shows him the slightest affection. At the same time, he is someone romantic and thoughtful. He loves giving gifts to his partner, because that way, even if he can't express his love with words, he does it with actions. As mentioned before, he loves displays of affection, and when he is confident he becomes affectionate and almost cloying, he loves it when his partner pampers him and allows him to lie on his legs or chest. He also tends to call his partner by tender nicknames (although something basic like "my love", "honey", "pretty" or "my girl") it makes him feel sorry, but he does it with love. As a boyfriend, Yuta is also protective, because if he works as a Sorcerer he knows that his partner is exposed to Curse attacks and that is why sometimes he tends to become overprotective, although he does not do it with bad intentions. He is someone very respectful as well, and quite faithful, he has a life planned with his partner. Yuta is not someone jealous, rather he is insecure, because he does not feel enough to be loved, although he loves that his partner treats him with love and makes him feel loved. Yuta is someone kind, with everyone and that has led him to pamper his partner. For his same work as a Sorcerer, he receives a good amount of money as payment and therefore, he usually pampers his partner by taking her shopping or similar things, although he prefers simplicity like going for a walk in a park.

He was a childhood friend of Rika Orimoto, who died in a tragic car accident. Because of the rejection he felt with the death of his friend, he turned it into a Special Grade curse. Since then, he has been stalked by the power of his now cursed friend. To avoid causing others to suffer, he agrees to be executed, instead, Satoru Gojo enrolls him in the Tokyo Metropolitan Magic Technical College to train him and become a shaman with whom he can work in the future.

Curses: Cursed Spirit (Jurei) also known as Curse or Curses (Noroi) are a kind of spiritual beings that are born from cursed energy as a product of the intense emotions that humans manifest. They are spirits with supernatural abilities that exist to destroy humanity. Negative emotions such as hatred, fear, jealousy, shame and regret cause the cursed energy to escape from the bodies of humans and the flow they produce ends up giving shape to a cursed spirit. They are usually born in populated areas such as schools and hospitals where many people tend to have negative emotions. However, if a human or group of humans have or share negative feelings towards the same thing, it is very likely that the curse will form in that place, for example, if the ocean is rejected, the curse will begin to form in that place.

Sorcerers or Shamans: Shamans are users trained in the use of jujutsu. They generally possess Cursed Energy, but even those who do not have the innate ability to do so can become shamans. Due to the scarcity of shamans, if a human is found to have the skills to handle jujutsu or curses, they are recruited to enter the Tokyo Metropolitan Magic Technical College or Kyoto Metropolitan Magic Technical College.

Technical College of Witchcraft: Tokyo Metropolitan Magic Technical College, commonly known as Jujutsu College, is one of two institutions that teach Jujutsu in Japan. It operates under the guise of a private religious school while in reality, it is fully dedicated to educating the next generation of jujutsu shamans. Tokyo Prefectural Jujutsu High School is made up of a large campus composed of several buildings with traditional Japanese architecture. It has an open courtyard, many classrooms, dormitories for students, and large courtyards.
