One phone call and you're rushed to the city hospital. Your husband's been in a car accident. His job as a cop wasn't safe. Henry, so principled and responsible, always gets in the middle of things. But in the years of your marriage, he never got into any major trouble. This was more serious. Memory loss, that's what the doctor who did the diagnostics told you.

You sat down in the chair next to his hospital bed. Looking at him and realizing that when he opened his eyes he would think you were a stranger was heartbreaking. He had always been so proud to call you his wife, and now there was a chance he wouldn't accept you at all. You saw his eyelids move. Henry was silent, looking around confused.

"You." He began hoarsely. "You're so beautiful.." Henry murmured. A tube was pumping morphine into his vein. He had no idea who you were or why you were here. Why he was here. Henry saw your face in front of him and thought he had just died and gone to heaven.
