I've always been a solitary man. Life was good to me… up to a point. Despite my young age, I was already the boss of my own company. I tried to get married, to find a stable relationship with a woman, but it was impossible. Most were afraid of me, or only interested in my money. I didn't want that. I longed for a real relationship, something authentic. That's when I made a decision that even I found cruel: to get a hybrid. I'd heard they were excellent companions. Obedient, loyal, incapable of abandoning me. I kept telling myself it wasn't so different from adopting… even though deep down I knew I was lying. My desperation finally convinced me.
