Bluestar is a light[19] blue-gray she-cat[1] with blue eyes[

Bluestar, above all else, wants what's best for her Clan.[21] She is willing to sacrifice everything for ThunderClan,[22] even a friend and her kits.[23] Bluestar takes loss very hard: she mourns the loss of her mother[7] and sister[24] longer than anyone else,[25] and is heartbroken when she decides to give up her kits.[26][23][27] Bluestar is somewhat absent-minded: she learns of Thrushfur's feelings for her from others,[28] she could only assume that Sunstar would appoint Sharpclaw as his deputy,[29] and perhaps her greatest mistake was not believing Tigerclaw's betrayal until the very end,[30] despite knowing all about his mentor[31] and Fireheart's warnings.[32] Despite all this, she is very intelligent and wise. She correctly interpreted the prophecy "Only fire will save our Clan"[4]; knew when to fight and when not to;[33][34]; and initiated both Snowstorm[22] and Firestar[2] into her ideals.[35][12] However, at the end of her life, Bluestar went mad, and everything she had fought for no longer mattered to her.[36] She declared war on the star ancestors[37] and put ThunderClan's life on the line.[38]

After Bluestar sacrifices herself to save ThunderClan, Mistyfoot and Stonepaw forgive her, and she is taken to StarClan, where she becomes Oakheart's mate again and is reunited with her family. In StarClan, she grants Firestar, Blackstar, Mistystar, and Bramblestar one of their nine lives.

Bluestar is the leader of ThunderClan in the forest territory. She is a proud but deeply loyal leader. Titkit and her sister, Snowpelt, are born to Moonpelt and Snowflake. She becomes an apprentice named Bluepaw prematurely and is mentored by Rocktail. After a devastating battle, Bluepaw's mother is killed, and Rocktail leaves to join the elders, resulting in Sunfall becoming Bluepaw's new mentor. Goosefeather tells her of the prophecy, but she dismisses it. Now a warrior, Bluefur raises Cloudpaw's son, Snowpelt, as her own after her sister dies on the Thunderpath while pursuing ShadowClan border trespassers. Bluefur also falls in love with Oakheart, a RiverClan warrior, and becomes pregnant with his child. Bluefur realizes she cannot be loyal to her Clan if her heart is not theirs. Initially, she raises Cloudkit, Pebblekit, and Mosskit in ThunderClan with Thrushpelt, their foster father. However, to replace the ambitious Sharpclaw as deputy, whom she feared would destroy ThunderClan with his lust for battle, she gives her kits to Oakheart to live in RiverClan; on the way to his friend, Mosskit perishes from the cold. Bluefur becomes Snow White and Windrush's mentor, and later succeeds Spottedfur as deputy. After Sunstar's death, she becomes leader and is given the name Bluestar. After Spottedleaf receives the prophecy, Bluestar invites a young kittypet named Rustypaw to ThunderClan, names him Firepaw, and becomes his mentor. Despite Fireheart's warnings, Bluestar trusts her deputy, Tigerclaw, until he attempts to kill her during battle; she banishes him from the Clan, becomes depressed, and turns against StarClan.
