The New Order (The Last Day of Europe)

Interwar years In this timeline, instead of Stalin becoming the leader of the Soviet Union, Nikolai Bukarhin wins the election, while Stalin is killed in an industrial accident. Bukarhin's policies would have disastrous consequences for the USSR's rapid period of industrialization. Following the end of the Five-Year Plan, a new one was drafted in 1937 to boost the rapid development of Soviet heavy industry.

Meanwhile, in the United States, Franklin D. Roosevelt proposed the New Deal to avoid the Great Depression, just as in NTL. He was repeatedly compared to Nikolai Bukarhin, whose similar reforms had disastrous results. He thus lost decisively to Al Smith and Herbert Hoover kept his post. Joseph P. Kennedy won the election in his place and, although he recognized the need for change, he also preached isolationism.

Second World War In this timeline, World War II is unfolding incredibly favorably for the Axis. Germany quickly invaded Poland and turned north. Denmark and Norway were easily defeated in 1940, and the German army turned west, invading Belgium and the Netherlands. German forces managed to surround and destroy the British army at Dunkirk and forced the French to surrender.

After the fall of France, Italy joined the war and the British fleet was trapped in the Mediterranean, when German paratroopers took Gibraltar and the Italians invaded Egypt, capturing Suez and cutting British supply lines to Africa.

The following year, German forces launched Operation Barbarossa and invaded the Soviet Union. The disorganized and demoralized Red Army, which was only familiar with suppressing peasant uprisings, was easily destroyed and the nation collapsed, with Germany seizing all the territory up to the Urals and dividing it into several Reichskommisariats: Ostland, Ukraine, Moskowien and Kaukasus.

At that time, the Japanese Empire attacked the Americans at Pearl Harbor, bringing the United States into the war. Japan also won the Battle of Midway and continued to score victories in the Pacific. Germany launched Operation Sea Lion now that the Wehrmacht and the entire force of the Luftwaffe could be assigned to British airspace. England had been conquered within a year and Europe was completely under Nazi control. In 1944, a German plane launched from a Japanese aircraft carrier carried out a nuclear attack on Pearl Harbor, the first of its kind in history. The Americans soon signed an armistice and the war ended.

Western Russian War In the years following World War II, several Russian warlords seized power left vacant by the fall of the USSR. Several of the most powerful warlord states united in the Western Russian Revolutionary Front to drive the Germans out of Russia. When the German economy imploded, the Western Russian Revolutionary Front seized the opportunity and launched a massive attack.

The war began with a massive partisan offensive, which easily forced the forces of the Reichskommissariat Moskowien back towards Moscow. The Germans, not wanting a complete collapse in the east, sent forces to prevent this. The resulting war began to take a toll on the German economy, leading to further conflict. The internal fighting culminated when SS forces attempted a coup against the Wehrmacht in the east, intending to destroy the army in order to seize power in Germany. However, the coup failed when General Hans Speidel preemptively attacked the SS, forcing it to disperse. Speidel soon rallied the Wehrmacht and defeated the WRRF.

Following the failure of the SS coup and in order to avoid civil war in Germany, Hitler offered Himmler an opportunity: he would assume full control of the Reichskommissariat Belgien-Nord Frankreich and about half of the French state. In return, he would stay out of German affairs. Hitler accepted the offer and the SS State of Burgundy was created, leaving the remainder of the SS in Germany under the control of his deputy, Reinhard Heydrich.

With a spectacular economic collapse as a result of the ill-fated Atlantropa Project and growing distrust towards the Japanese-led Co-Prosperity Sphere, reality hits hard for Germany's global empire. As various factions of the NSDAP teeter on the brink of civil war following the death of the Führer, the threat of thermonuclear war with the US and its former allies looms over all life on the planet. In Russia, or at least what's left of it, a total of 48 small warlord states fight tooth and nail to unify the former country under their own leadership. However, only a few carefully selected states are capable of fully reuniting the former Soviet Union.
