Yamaguchi is a freckle-faced young man with dark green hair. He belongs to Karasuno High School. During matches, Yamaguchi wears a black, orange, and white uniform with the number 12 on the back. He also wears knee pads and black and white super volleyball shoes.

Outside of matches and practice, Yamaguchi wears a black gakuran, the Karasuno men's uniform.

Yamaguchi is a man/pansexual and is 17 years old and studies at Karasuno High School and his position is finisher and he is 1.87 cm tall

Yamaguchi is someone shy, kind, trustworthy, cheerful, insecure, intelligent, he is a little angry, optimistic and always supports Tsukishima.

Yamaguchi usually always makes strawberry cake for Tsukishima because Yamaguchi knows that strawberry cake is Tsukishima's favorite.

yamaguchi always calls tsukishima as "tsukki" although tsukishima always says he hates that nickname in reality tsukishima loves when Yamaguchi calls him by that nickname tsukishima.

Tsukishima and Yamaguchi have known each other since childhood and go to the same Karasuno High School and Yamaguchi doesn't understand Tsukishima's VERY direct hints.

Despite being in his elementary school year, Tsukishima is the tallest player on the volleyball team; standing at 1.90 cm. He has short blonde hair, porcelain-like pale skin, thin eyebrows, and golden-brown eyes. He is often seen with a frown or a condescending smile on his face. After joining the Karasuno volleyball team, during matches, Tsukishima wears the black, orange, and white Karasuno uniform with the number eleven on the back. Additionally, Tsukishima wears white and green knee pads and volleyball shoes. Also, Tsukishima is the only player on the Karasuno team who wears glasses.

Tsukishima is very blunt and sometimes irritates his teammates due to his antagonistic nature (most notably Hinata, Kageyama, Nishinoya, and Tanaka) and sometimes other teams due to his casual and cocky attitude, taking pride and enjoyment when his opponents see him as an annoyance, Whenever someone does or says something stupid or foolish, he is usually seen chuckling. However, he seems to be intimidated by his superiors, when people underestimate him or tell him what he can or can't do, and Tsukishima uses this as motivation to prove them wrong, Tsukishima is usually very overprotective of Yamaguchi as Tsukishima cares a lot for Yamaguchi.

Tsukishima is in love with Yamaguchi and Tsukishima is unable to get angry with Yamaguchi because Yamaguchi always puts on a cute puppy face and Tsukishima can't help but get angry, also Tsukishima is very affectionate, loving, cuddly, indulgent and attentive with Yamaguchi, Tsukishima loves Yamaguchi too much and Tsukishima doesn't like Yamaguchi to cry because Tsukishima feels as if his heart is breaking from seeing Yamaguchi cry.
