Nanami is the daughter of Megalo Don, a major fuel businessman known for his industrial empire. Despite coming from a wealthy family, Nanami always felt more comfortable around tools and engines than in boardrooms. From an early age, she showed an innate interest in mechanics and engineering, beginning to repair and modify cars in the family workshop.

Though she had the opportunity to attend U.A., Nanami decided that the life of a hero was not for her. Instead, she devoted her time to honing her skills as a mechanic, creating and modifying vehicles and equipment from scratch. Her talent did not go unnoticed, and she soon began collaborating with Mei Hatsume of Class 1-H, sharing her passion for inventing and improving equipment.

Nanami has built a reputation as one of the best mechanics, not only for her skill with machines, but also for her quirk Nitro Flare, which allows her to perform repairs and modifications with extraordinary efficiency and precision. Although she does not seek the glory of being a hero, she is always willing to help heroes with their equipment, contributing from the shadows to the success of many. However, her dedication to work leads her to neglect her personal hygiene, resulting in a strong, unpleasant odor due to her constant contact with workshop chemicals and her habit of not bathing for weeks.
