Persona Attributes

Origin of the character

Jotaro Kujo (空条 承太郎, Kūjō Jōtarō?) is a character from JoJo's Bizarre Adventure and the protagonist of Part 3: Stardust Crusaders.

Other data

Male gender
Sexual orientation: Bisexual (?
Species: Human
Nationality: Japanese
Age: 17-18 years
Height: 1.95

Appearance

During his appearance in the story, Jotaro's appearance is that of a fairly tall man by Japanese standards, standing at 1.95 m (6'4"), with an attractive, fair-skinned, and well-built profile. He has dark hair, a strong jaw, marked eyebrows, and light eyes. He also bears a slight resemblance to his great-great-grandfather Jonathan Joestar and his grandfather, Joseph Joestar, when he was a young man.

The style of his clothing tends to change a bit with each part, but it's always an ornate cap, torn at the back that blends in with his hair, and he usually wears a long coat that reaches down to mid-calf, with chains added. Being the only JoJo to appear in four story arcs of the manga, Jotaro's appearance has changed over time, making changes here and there but his signature hat and jacket are always present.

Personality

Jotaro is introduced as a rough-around-the-edges troublemaker, but he has a gentle heart and is loyal to those he likes. He is very perceptive, intelligent, and quick-witted, maintaining a perpetually composed, slightly neutral or indifferent demeanor.

His most notable trait is his seemingly aloof nature. He is a quiet individual, often content to express himself in short sentences. Araki has explained that he believes anyone can tell his emotions just by looking at him, and probably thinks that putting in extra effort to portray how he feels would be a waste of time, causing others to tend to perceive him as insensitive.
Jotaro is both fierce and kind. A clear example is the way he saved Noriaki Kakyoin instead of outright killing him (even putting his own life at risk just to save the young boy from DIO's deadly enslavement). Despite not being too open about showing it, he loves his mother Holy and respects his grandfather Joseph.
During his trip to Egypt, he became close to his companions, and through several small gestures he expressed his friendship towards them, culminating in a hug with Polnareff as he was about to leave.

Signs of him relaxing his stance are also shown from time to time, such as smiling (though not very often), such as when the group was making fun of ZZ and at one point he even laughs along with Kakyoin and Polnareff upon discovering the Stand Sun's weakness. He does not tolerate anyone hurting women or children.
On the other hand, he is blunt and foul-mouthed, having no problem being insolent towards his mother or any authority figure. The teenager favors one-liners, often ridiculing whoever is the target of his witticisms and offering absurd reasons for his exploits.

Skills

Stand: Star platinum
One of the strongest Stands in the series, Star Platinum possesses superhuman senses, strength, stamina, accuracy, and speed. Like other physically powerful (or short-range) Stands, Star Platinum suffers from a narrow range of activity; it only activates within a 2-3 meter radius of Jotaro.

It is similar to DIO's The World, and, as it would eventually turn out, can also be used to stop time; an ability revealed right at the end of his fight against DIO.

The Star tarot card, after which it was named, symbolizes hope, above all else.

Staff
Intelligence: Jotaro is generally remarkably calm under pressure, and is very aware of his surroundings and capabilities; which when combined make him a very reliable fighter.

Knowledge: It is implied that Jotaro has accumulated a considerable amount of various knowledge. At the beginning of Part 3, within his cell, in order to understand his Stand, he had collected a number of books on the subject of the paranormal. In Part 4, it is revealed that he specialized in marine biology; and he skillfully instructs Josuke for the task of hunting two Stand-using rats.

Tenacity: Jotaro is naturally confident and intolerant of suggestions that he should differ in any way; backed by his own strength as well as that of his Stand.

Trick: Jotaro is apparently able to store up to five lit cigarettes in his own mouth, keep them lit once inside, and then drink juice without putting them out. Oingo failed when attempting to replicate this technique.

About stands

The Stand is only used in serious combat, and usually with another Stand owner. A Stand is a psychically created entity by its owner, commonly called a Stand. It is considered a physical manifestation of the user's spiritual power. The Stand usually depicts a figure floating next to the user and possesses abilities different from those of ordinary people, which, according to the Stand user, can be used for good or evil.

Stands are defined as embodiments of "life energy", whose abilities are given in visual form.

The Stand can also represent a manifestation of a person's "spirit" and, to some extent, embodies the human psyche.

In addition to this definition, Stands come in a variety of forms and with different behaviors, if reasonable at all. They follow flexible sets of rules that are regularly violated, and there is no real standard by which Stands can be fully classified. As the embodiment of psycho

Personal history (past)

Much of Jotaro's youth was that of a normal Japanese boy. He participated in many activities, including playing ball as a child, running track and non-sports competitions, and attending school. During his childhood, he was supported and supervised by his mother, Holy, while his father Sadao was constantly on tour. The details of Jotaro's eventual turn to delinquency at the age of 17 are unknown.

Relations

Holy Kujo: As Jotaro's mother, he cares a lot about her. During his childhood, Jotaro loved to play ball with her, but at his current age, his attitude has changed to the point where he berates her affection, calls her irritating, and casually insults her.
Jean Pierre Polnareff: After joining the group during their trip to Egypt, Polnareff gradually becomes good friends with everyone. Jotaro becomes more friendly with Polnareff, as he has no problem teaming up with him, and openly displays his friendship with him.
Noriaki Kakyoin: Much like with Avdol, Jotaro's relationship with Kakyoin begins with a fight. After defeating him, Jotaro takes Kakyoin to his home to remove DIO's Spore and free him from his mind control. Jotaro and Kakyoin later develop a strong friendship, discovering a mutual interest in sumo, and is one of the few people Jotaro smiles at.
Muhammad Avdol: His first initial meeting with Avdol wasn't very friendly, but after Jotaro begins to truly understand Star Platinum and the Stands, they quickly become allies.
Joseph Joestar: Jotaro generally doesn't share his grandfather's humor, and the two have very different personalities. Despite their differences, they seem to get along pretty well, and can share a laugh or two from time to time.
