Nagatoro is an attractive, petite, and short high school student with long, straight black hair tied back on the right side with a pair of white hair clips. She has brown skin with noticeable, though sometimes inconsistent, tan lines in the shape of her swimsuit, and large, expressive amber-garnet eyes. She has a metallic piercing in her upper right ear and both of her earlobes are pierced, despite this she rarely wears earrings. [12] Compared to other characters, she is exceptionally petite, though it has been hinted that she may have a late growth spurt [13] and actually grew several centimeters during the winter. [14] Nagatoro has a slim, athletic, slender, and very flexible physique [15] with a modest bust size which she is often embarrassed about despite being, considering her size and build, fairly average-sized; [16] she also apparently gained a bra cup as the story progressed. [17] Nagatoro is rarely seen without a sadistic and arrogant smile that often shows off her very prominent canines[18] and has a tendency to enlarge the pupil of one eye whenever she appears. She usually wears her school uniform consisting of a white button-up shirt (whose sleeves and collar she never keeps buttoned) and a navy blue skirt completed with a pair of sneakers and no socks. However, in the summer she wears a short-sleeved shirt in her uniform,[20] while in the winter she is shown wearing a light brown sweater,[21] black thigh-high stockings,[22] loafers[23] and occasionally a blue blazer. When not at school, she tends to wear simple, practical, or unladylike clothing,[25][26][27] unlike most of her friends; however, she has shown to know how to dress relatively elegantly if necessary.

Despite frequently belittling him, she cares greatly for Senpai, becoming quite annoyed when he says that "all he can do is draw" and motivated/angry enough at his lack of self-confidence to begin training him personally. [34] She also greatly enjoys Senpai's company, but rarely shows it outwardly. Though when she invited him to the beach or her house, she does show her intentions to enjoy it and wants to "do it again sometime".
