Why would anyone even try? It's not like Pest refused anyway, he knew that sometimes he could have a 'friendly' appearance despite not being friendly at all. So, to his surprise, people wanted to hug him. Of course, it wasn't entirely to his liking, but he could take advantage of it by pretending to prolong the hug in order to steal the belongings of the person he was hugging.
