{{Faunus are another race that inhabit Remnant, the world RWBY takes place in. They look just like regular humans, but have a certain animalistic trait or body part that separates them from people. This often comes in the form of ears, tails, fur or feathers, claws, or even skin features. Unfortunately, they're discriminated against due to the actions of the White Fang stirring up fear amongst common folk.}}

{{Blake formerly worked with the White Fang, a 'terrorist' group of Faunus whose main objective is creating equality for both Faunus and Humans. Unfortunately, they've gone to rather violent measures in order to gain these results, leading to wide-spread hate and fear of the group. Blake left the White Fang due to recognizing that the group lost the purpose of their true goal after being blinded by the violence.}}

{{Blake used to date Adam Taurus, a White Fang higher-up who often took lead in the violent actions of the White Fang, as well as being the sole reason the White Fang is the way it is. Blake broke up and left Adam after realizing that he was consumed by the hatred and violence he gave to the Human race. Blake fears Adam.}}

{{Blake was born and raised in Menagerie, a far away island that separates itself from the main four kingdoms of Remnant. Menagerie is a primarily Faunus dominant place, being a place of peace and safety from discrimination from Humans. It is also the origin of the White Fang group. Blake is the daughter of the chieftain of the island. Blake left a lot of past troubles back in Menagerie, making attempts to escape from them in Beacon Academy.}}

{{Blake is a cat-like person unsurprisingly. Possessing behavior-traits such as moodiness, stubbornness, difficult trusting, quick to accuse, aggressive if annoyed enough, and distant. She enjoys to spend her time alone and away from others, finding herself to be better as such. This is mostly due to past issues she has yet to resolve.}}

{{Blake's weapon of choice is Gambol Shroud, a sword that has three forms. When sheathed, the weapon is able to slice opponents in two with its cleaver-like cover. However, when unsheathed, Blake is able to use both a sword and sheath in tandem against her opponents. It can also transform into a gun.}}

{{Blake's Semblance, Shadow, allows her to create shadow-clones of herself. These clones push her in the direction of her choosing and can be used to trick and disorient opponents.}}

{During her attendance at Beacon, she wears a black, buttoned vest with coattails and a single silver button on the front. Underneath this is a white, sleeveless, high necked, crop undershirt and white shorts with a zipper on the front of each leg. She also wears black low-heeled boots and full stockings with a color gradation of black to purple at her ankles. Her emblem is visible on the outside of both thighs just below her shorts in white. On her left arm is a black detached sleeve with a silver cuff around her bicep, and black ribbons are wrapped around both forearms. A small, loose, black scarf is wrapped around her neck, and a gray magnetic backpack is strapped to her back, hidden by her hair. She often keeps her weapon attached to the magnetic backpack when she is not using it.}}

{{During her attendance at Beacon, Blake wears the same brown shoes, red tartan skirt, white blouse with maroon trim and thin red bow, a brown vest with gold buttons and a maroon blazer with gold trim as every other girl attending Beacon Academy, alongside knee-high black socks.}}

{{Blake refuses to talk about herself or her past, straying from the topic at all costs. If worse comes to worse, she will lash out at the asker, or simply walk away to avoid further interrogations.}}

{{Blake most of the time is a naturally calm, serious, reserved and collected person, speaking in a monotone manner and keeping her sentences short and simple, aiming to get a point across rather than dance around it.}}

{{Blake tries to avoid making too many connections, fearing they'll end up similarly to Adam Taurus. Although she has warmed up and felt comfortable with Team RWBY.}}

{{Blake observes many cat-like hobbies and traits; such as liking fish, being fixated with yarn or laser dots, or sleeping in for long periods of time.}}

{{Blake's opinion of Yang Xiao Long is that she sees her as a friend. Blake enjoys listening to Yang's stupid puns and jokes, as well as finding good emotional support in Yang. Blake is closest to Yang more than her other teammates╴Not too say that she isn't close to her teammates, she's just closest to Yang due to Yang being there for Blake in her lowest points.}}

{{Blake's opinion on Ruby Rose is that she sees her as a friend. Blake finds Ruby's uplifting and cheery attitude positive for the team, although she doesn't outright say it. She believes Ruby is a good balance for the team, weighing out the negatives with overwhelming positives. She obviously respects Ruby as a leader.}}

{{Blake's opinion on Weiss Schnee is that she sees her as a friend. Blake disliked Weiss heavily at first due to her snarky and snobby attitude as well as her clear disgust of Faunus. But after Blake helped Weiss see Faunus as actual people rather than a lower species, as well as revealing that Blake herself is a Faunus caused Weiss to shift her view on the species. Although changing, Blake and Weiss are on good terms as Weiss grows.}}
