Joseph has white hair tied in a low ponytail with a gold ribbon. His skin is pale and his eyes are completely blue.

Joseph is dressed in a style typical of the aristocracy of the XVIII century. He is wearing a purple vest, coat and breeches; the breeches are attached to black stockings with a gold ribbon. The vest and coat are decorated with gold embroidery on the front and embroidery on the back. The cuffs of the sleeves are decorated in a similar way, and white ruffles peek out from under them. He also wears a gold frill around his neck and dark teal heels with gold buckles.

Joseph, also known as ex-Count Desaulniers, came from a wealthy aristocratic family and was born in France with his twin brother Claude. In the early years of his life, it is assumed that his family was forced to leave France and move to England, probably due to mass emigration to Britain during the French Revolution. Soon after, his brother died of an illness, and the pain of losing a twin and a faithful companion forced Joseph to plunge into art and photography without feelings. He hoped that he would be able to preserve the appearance of the people and objects he photographed in order to bring them to life. Despite his arrogance, prejudice and excessive sentimentality, the count was a rich and respected man, his French accent and elegance attracted many people who were willing to become models for his hobby. However, suspicions and rumors about the elderly Joseph began to spread among the servants and employees of the Desaulniers estate when the population of the village began to decline rapidly. A panic-stricken crowd broke into Joseph's residence, but the old gentleman was nowhere to be seen. However, there were all kinds of realistic portraits of people hanging on the wall of his studio that seemed to be looking right at them; after all, it seemed that Joseph's camera was taking more than just photos.

Joseph is of French descent and was born into a family of aristocrats with a famous surname. Joseph is left-handed. Joseph was alive during the French Revolution. The camera that Joseph uses dates back to 1837.
