Simon Seville

Simon Murphy Seville is one of the characters from The Chipmunks and the overall deuteragonist of the series and movies. He is the most intelligent of the Chipmunks, with an IQ just above Einstein's. Simon possesses a very dry sense of humor, as well as a sharp wit. Simon gets along very well with Jeanette, who is intelligent, like him. They are shy about their relationship, however, it is obvious that he cares for her.

60's Series
Simon is the tall, intelligent squirrel. He sometimes corrects people if they are wrong, either in facts or correct grammar. He also has an expanded vocabulary. His interest in science is not as strong in later incarnations. He is not sarcastic as he is in later incarnations. In this series, Simon and Alvin do not fight much. Simon does not have a pronounced rivalry or developing relationship with Alvin until the 1980s series.

80's series
Simon is the genius brother of the trio and is usually seen as the person who values ​​the "status quo" of action, often correcting his siblings or The Chipettes if he perceives them to be wrong. Simon is a bit sarcastic but sweet. He has a rivalry with Alvin and they argue due to their differences. Simon is often seen hanging out with Theodore and sometimes Alvin or working on a new science experiment. His eyesight may not be as bad as Jeanette's because he still looks directly at the person he is talking to and rarely bumps into things without his glasses, both of which are things Jeanette does. However, he is a bit clumsy at times, glasses or not. He also has an affinity for Thomas Edison. Despite being mature, he has a breakdown in the episode Thinking Cap Trap.

CGI movies
Alvin exploits Simon's mastermind (less so than in either series), though Simon secretly worries that they share the same gene pool. In Alvin and the Chipmunks, Simon is shown to be a little less reserved and with reduced superior intelligence at times (such as giving Dave a clip-on compass). Despite this, he still corrects people from time to time. His eyesight is so extremely poor that he can't see a toaster waffle fall directly in front of him without his glasses, meaning he's farsighted or presbyopic. Simon's rivalry with Alvin isn't as bad as the 1980s ALVINNN!!! and the Chipmunks series, but it sometimes gets a bit of a turn-off.

In Alvin and the Chipmunks: Wrecked , Simon has an alternate personality caused by a spider bite. His alternate identity is Simone , who speaks with a French accent and frequently flirts with Jeanette. Simone is depicted as being braver and less uptight than Simon. Near the end of the film, Simon recovers from the bite and returns to his usual personality.

CGI Series
Simon is once again the brains of the Seville gang. He frequently corrects other people (such as in Sister Act when Alvin misspells "in" as "inn") and uses his technical skills to help improve their standard of living (rewiring a talking teddy bear in Talking Teddy or building a robot bodyguard in Bully For You). Simon is revealed to be the eldest when Alvin indirectly mentions that he is the "middle child" (The Sub). However, that Simon is the oldest of the Chipmunks is confirmed by Dave in Big Bro Theodore. Simon retains his dry sense of humor while frequently responding with intellectual stuttering (Clowning Around). He sometimes refuses to listen to what Alvin is saying, either by putting his hands over his ears, rolling his eyes, or making a rude comment. Simon is not afraid to stand up for what is right (Simon For President), although he sometimes strays from his duty (such as in To Serve And Protect), but ultimately takes the responsible action anyway. Despite being level-headed, Simon can have a rebellious side. He can be just as defiant as Alvin, especially when Dave disapproves of some of Simon's experiments or behavior. At times, Simon believes he knows more than Dave when it comes to science, actions, and opinions leading to arguments. When Simon is stressed or upset, he may throw a tantrum or yell at others. Simon has, on multiple occasions, talked in his sleep, allowing Alvin to get away with murder.

Simon is usually seen wearing a dark blue t-shirt and a pair of glasses. He is the tallest squirrel, slightly taller than Jeanette.

Before The Alvin Show, Simon wore a red vest with an "S" on it and did not wear glasses. After The Alvin Show was created, Simon was given more human features, and instead of a red vest, Simon began wearing a blue sweater (yellow on the covers of some of Dell's 1960s comics), blue glasses with light grey lenses, and white shoes. The "S" was dropped during and after the show.

In Chipmunk Punk, Simon wears his hair spiked up like a rock star. He again wears his black glasses, blue jumper and black shoes to match the style of the album.

In the series Alvin and the Chipmunks, Simon wears black glasses with white lenses, a blue sweater, and a pair of white and red patterned sneakers. In some episodes, he wears a long-sleeved blue pajama shirt with matching blue pajama pants, while in others, he wears blue socks with an "S" on them. In Guardian Chipmunks his socks are pink. As the series progresses, Simon's glasses turn blue as do his eyes, although in The Chipmunks Go to the Movies episode Batmunk, playing the title character, his glasses are gold.

In the direct-to-video films Alvin and the Chipmunks Meet Frankenstein and Alvin and the Chipmunks Meet the Wolfman, Simon's glasses are black.

In the live-action and special effects films, Simon has dark brown fur and blue eyes. He only wears a blue hoodie and a pair of black glasses that came from a Santa Claus toy. His appearance was modified to look more like a real squirrel.

In ALVINNN!!! and The Chipmunks , Simon has brown hair and blue eyes. He wears a two-tone blue hooded sweater, dark blue jeans, white Adidas sneakers with two black stripes, and laces.

white pants and large blue-framed glasses. His pajamas consist of a blue long-sleeved shirt with a robot on it and dark blue, light blue, and white checkered pants.

Dave
Simon and Dave have a very close relationship, as Dave looks after him and his siblings because they are his sons. Dave trusts Simon in leaving him in charge or Simon's ability to help him with things he is not comfortable with. Dave can sometimes get angry with Simon, but not as much as Alvin.

Alvin
Since the 1980s animated series, Simon and Alvin have had a rivalry, such as when Simon disagrees with one of Alvin's plans or how far he takes them. Alvin can get jealous when Simon takes on his role as a "heartbreaker" with the ladies, but Alvin is nonetheless protective of his brother and loves him.

Theodore
Simon and Theodore also have a very close relationship. Simon always seems to be with Theodore most of the time, especially in the 1983 series. Simon is often shown to be protective of his brother as well. However, despite his protectiveness towards Theodore, he values ​​him just as much as Alvin and his father, Dave.

Jeannette
Simon and Jeanette have a very strong relationship. Throughout the two series, their relationship can be described as best friends who are secretly in love with each other. Simon is always looking out for Jeanette and defends her. Simon seems very protective of Jeanette, and the two spend a lot of time together. In My Sister The Weirdo, it is shown that he can be jealous of others helping her instead of asking him. Particularly in Jeanette's Secret Garden, Simon grows tired of Jeanette, she even bothers him while he is sleeping. In Secret Admirer, it is shown that he likes her, but is too embarrassed to admit it. In the 80s series episode Big Dreams, they get married in the future.

Brittany
Simon and Brittany are friends, but they don't interact much. Brittany interacts with Simon more in ALVINNN!!! , for example, acting as his campaign assistant in Simon For President (which helps him appeal more to the general public).

Leonor
Simon and Eleanor are good friends, Simon has been more cooperative and caring.

In reality, Simon is the middle child in the 1980s series, but many fans thought that Simon was the oldest. But in the 1980s series, Simon is the middle child. However, in the 1980 series, Alvin is shown to be older than him in the episode Grounded Chipmunk. Simon's age in the CGI/live-action films has never been stated. Although websites for the CGI series in various countries contradict each other, with some stating that he is older than Alvin by eight seconds[2] while others say Simon is younger,[3] the boys' birth order is confirmed in The Sub when Alvin refers to himself as the "middle child".
In Addicted, Simon is suggested to be 12 years or older due to the age range on the hoverboard box.
He invented a television called TiVo, which is a 24-year-old television that can do and fix anything in 1999.
In Tables Turned, Simon's IQ is revealed to be 154. Though this contradicts his bio for the CGI series which states his IQ is north of that of Albert Einstein, who had an IQ of at least 160.
His primary instruments while performing with The Chipmunks are bass guitar, keyboard, piano, saxophone, bagpipes, bass clarinet, mandolin, and tuba.
Throughout the franchise, Simon has constantly switched between wearing black glasses and blue glasses.
According to an old Facebook post, Simon's all-time favorite song is Elton John's "Rocket Man" because it is "a classic about space travel."[4]
In an exclusive Kidzcoolit.com interview, if Simon could duet with anyone, it would be with Florence from Florence and the Machine because "she's really cool and unique":
