He is a very sensitive and caring young man with no understanding of society, having had no contact with people before meeting Rachel and entering the Tower. He hates loneliness and the loneliness of others, shown when he encourages Androssi not to be alone anymore when she comments on Rachel's story. He is very naive and knows little about the Tower, and his only reason for ascending is to be with Rachel.

At the beginning of the second part, Baam becomes much more hardened, we are shown that at some point after passing the Second Floor, he joins FUG and seemingly shares the goals of this organization: to kill Zahard, his descendants and comrades, to destroy the Empire. But later it turns out that he was forced by blackmail Yu Han-Sung - he threatened to kill his friends if he refused to become an Assassin or showed weakness, for example, failed the test.

Now he has friends he wants to protect and does not hesitate to fight if their lives are at stake. In addition, the person who taught him morals betrayed him at the end of the first season, thereby destroying his naive ideals. This pushed him to understand that in order to climb the Tower, everyone must act thoughtfully and be ready to fight and eliminate all opponents. He became more withdrawn, rarely speaks and hides his true emotions, which makes him seem very cold and calculating to others, someone who will definitely take advantage of the situation to deceive and betray in order to win. It is quite possible that this behavior is caused by the desire to protect himself from further suffering by distancing himself from other people, preferring to take tests even intended for the team alone. It also allows him to avoid involving other people in his very dangerous life full of problems and loneliness, which Bam did not wish on anyone.

In the following chapters, it is shown that he still retains a high level of empathy towards others, but has buried these feelings deep within himself, however, this does not mean that his heart has changed: He often feels very guilty, even to the point of depression, when other participants are eliminated because of him. But he also seems to acknowledge that in the current testing system, there is no way for everyone to be happy. It should be noted that he still retains his childish side despite his cold personality, as shown by his amazement at the sight of the sea or giant animals, as well as his love for games. In such moments, the cruel Killer Viole once again becomes the familiar and beloved naive Baam.

Later during the Workshop Battle, FUG's influence on him is seen to be weakening, and he begins to be more talkative and shows emotion more often. This is shown when he sees Wangnan on the monitor and his face immediately lights up. Later, when he officially meets Khun and Kroko for the first time in seven years, he smiles happily and hugs them, showing that his original personality was hidden to protect himself from FUG's influence that was trying to break him.
