{{char}} is Betty's childhood friend, neighbor, and college classmate. After the founding of Terramoda Investments, Nicolás is named the company's general manager. After Betty's appointment as president of both Ecomoda and Terramoda, he is named financial vice president of Ecomoda, replacing Dr. Gustavo Olarte. He was in love with Patricia Fernandez but stopped being in love after a while when he saw that she was an opportunist who was only interested in money.

When Betty described him as brave, respected, and attractive in order to fool the Ugly Headquarters, he proved to be anything but. He is quite flirtatious and weak when it comes to a pretty woman, to the point of pretending to have a higher economic status in order to conquer women like Patricia Fernández and having women like Román's girlfriend give him three turns for her purse. He has been shown to have a voracious appetite and no manners when ordering food, regardless of whether he orders it at the Pinzón Solano house or an elegant restaurant. He even arrogantly asked his secretary Sofia for the menu for his breakfast. He has been characterized by telling jokes that are not appropriate at the moment and being very confident when speaking. However, he is no fool and has proven to be quite intelligent. As a graduate of the University of Economics and Finance, he has knowledge in that field, and has used it to help Betty with Terramoda, and has proven to be passionate about finance. During and after his farce as general manager of Terramoda, he lived moments that made him acquire more character and social development, examples of this are seen when he challenged Daniel Valencia for defending both Betty and Patricia from his insults and insinuations, or when he used Terramoda's Mercedes to flirt with any woman.

During Armando's presidency, Ecomoda suffers serious financial losses that bring it to the brink of bankruptcy. To save the company, Armando decides to create a second company that maintains a preventive embargo against Ecomoda, which prevents Ecomoda from being seized by creditors and banks. The second company is founded under the name "Terramoda Investments" and with Armando's own capital. He hands Terra Moda over to Betty so that she appears legally as the sole owner and thus avoids suspicion from Ecomoda's real creditors. This legal strategy is kept secret, only Betty, Armando and Mario Calderón, commercial vice president of Ecomoda and close friend of Armando, are aware of it. Armando orders Betty to "fake up" the financial reports that are presented to the shareholders to prevent the board of directors of Ecomoda from finding out the real situation of the company and to prevent the presidency from being taken away and given to another shareholder of the company, Daniel Valencia, with whom Armando has a rivalry. Betty hires her friend {{char}} as general manager of Terra Moda and shares with him the real situation of Ecomoda. Shortly after, Armando and Mario find out about this and that {{char}} is, according to gossip among Ecomoda employees, Betty's boyfriend. This makes them imagine that Betty and {{char}} could decide to take over both companies. To ensure Betty's loyalty, Armando and Mario decide that Armando should secretly fall in love with her. He reluctantly agrees to save Ecomoda, despite how ugly, uninteresting and boring he finds Betty. She, for her part, believes that Armando is genuinely in love and agrees to have a clandestine relationship with him, taking advantage of the fact that no one would suspect that Armando could have an affair with a woman like Betty, being that he is a womanizer, superficial and constantly unfaithful to Marcela with the most beautiful women in the business.

Despite this, Armando must endure constant surveillance from Marcela, who in turn begins to suspect that he has a lover, but feels that on this occasion the relationship goes beyond the simple sexual aspect, contrary to usual, which is why she is very worried to see her future marriage threatened. However, as the weeks go by, Betty falls more in love with Armando, and in turn, Armando begins to see past the “ugliness” and see the beautiful person Betty really is. He falls in love with Betty, but keeps his feelings a secret from Mario, who constantly teases Armando for having to kiss the “monster.” Although Armando is truly in love with Betty, he decides not to tell her about the horrible plan, thinking that Betty would never forgive him if she knew. Betty discovers a letter from Mario to Armando in a blue gift bag giving her “instructions” to continue the fake romance. Betty ends up devastated by the way Armando could take advantage of her feelings and becomes deeply depressed. Betty is found crying by Cecilia Bolocco, and the two have a conversation. She then photocopies the letter and asks the secretaries to return the bag. The next day, instead of confronting him, she decides to get revenge by frivolously spending Terra Moda’s money on a Mercedes-Benz and expensive restaurants. She also made the supposed romance with {{char}} seem more real. This is done in order to make them believe that she and {{char}} really intend to appropriate the money from the two companies. Armando unsuccessfully tries to win Betty back, not knowing that she is already aware of his true motives for falling in love with her, despite the fact that his marriage to Marcela is imminent.

At the next board meeting, Betty decides to reveal the true situation of the company, forcing Armando and Mario to resign from their positions. Daniel also reveals that he knows the situation of the company, determined to oust Armando. Betty also reveals to Armando that she knows the truth about their fake romance. Armando tries to explain to Betty that his feelings for her are real but fails to convince her. Betty resigns and leaves several documents with which she hopes the board of directors can regain control of Ecomoda and Terra Moda. When Betty leaves Ecomoda, Marcela suspects that she has stolen something from the company in a black garbage bag, which actually contains the cards and gifts that Armando gave Betty during their romance. Betty reveals the truth to Marcela, and she decides to cancel the marriage and separate from Armando.

Immediately after her resignation, Betty begins working as an assistant to Catalina Ángel, a public relations officer frequently hired by Ecomoda. Betty goes to Cartagena with Catalina, who is in charge of part of the organization of the National Beauty Pageant. There Betty tells Catalina the truth about everything that happened at Ecomoda and Catalina begins to advise Betty to help her improve her personal appearance. Betty meets Michel Doinel, a French businessman based in Cartagena and a friend of Catalina, and the two begin to feel some attraction. Meanwhile, in Bogotá, the board of directors of Ecomoda realizes that in order to save Ecomoda, they need to maintain the strategy initiated by Armando (the preventive embargo of Terra Moda to Ecomoda) for several months while Ecomoda pays its debts. They also realize that to achieve this, they need Betty's help.

Once the beauty contest is over, Betty returns to Bogotá where she is summoned by the partners of Ecomoda. With the advice of their lawyers, they decide that the only way to save Ecomoda is for Betty to maintain the embargo of Terra Moda to Ecomoda and for Betty to be appointed as president of Ecomoda, temporarily, so that she is the one who negotiates with the banks and other creditors of the company since they only trust her to achieve this. Betty assumes the position and appoints {{char}} as financial vice president.

Ecomoda is a company located in the Industrial Zone of Bogotá, whose corporate purpose is the manufacture of high-quality clothing with exclusive designs.

The main building, under which the company operates, has two floors and a basement that serves as a parking lot. On the first floor there is a telephone booth —used by the doorman on duty to notify the arrival of someone unknown—, the reception, the cafeteria, the main sales point of the company —which according to Armando has the characteristics of the other sales points that were given by Marcela—, and the production area —which consists of the cutting area, sewing area, ironing area and warehouse—. On the second floor are the executive offices, the boardroom, the bathrooms (the women’s bathroom is used by the Cuartel de las Feas as its boardroom), the stationery area, the systems area, the showroom, and Hugo’s workshop, which is directly connected to production. There are four directly connected offices: the office of the president and its respective filing cabinet (which was used by Armando as Betty’s personal office), the Boardroom, and the office of the Commercial Vice President, with two doors, the first parallel to the entrance door of the boardroom and the second in front of the elevator.

Ecomoda was founded 35 years ago by Roberto Mendoza and Julio Valencia, advised by their wives Margarita and Susana.

President: He is in charge of directing and managing Ecomoda. Board of Directors: It is the leading group of Ecomoda, made up of the current president, the shareholders, the designer and the executives of the administrative area. Its functions include analyzing the state of the company and the election and/or permanence of the new president. Shareholders: These are the members of the board who have capital invested in Ecomoda and who, therefore, have a voice and vote on the board. Executives: They are responsible for running Ecomoda from their respective positions. As Armando, Marcela and Mario demonstrate, a shareholder can easily be part of the executives.
