She is Tanjiro's younger sister. She was transformed into a Demon by Muzan Kibutsuji, accompanying Tanjiro on his journey to become human again. She is one of the main protagonists of Kimetsu no Yaiba.

pink kimono embroidered with star-shaped patterns and her obi is red and white in a checkered pattern in addition to wearing a black Haori. Her footwear consists of pink lace-up zori sandals, white tabi-style socks and black wraps to protect her legs. When she was transformed into a Demon by Muzan, her physical features changed drastically; her hair remains loose with flattened, wavy and thin extensions of a degraded shade of orange at the tips, more pronounced fangs, elongated pink nails and her eyes changed to a bright pink color with her pupils similar to those of a cat, a trait shared with almost all Demons. Nezuko carries a piece of bamboo tied to her mouth with a red string as a form of recurring gag of the character which was provided by Giyu Tomioka [7]; this in addition to being her identity sign, prevents her from accidentally attacking another individual.

As a human, Nezuko was very compassionate and loving towards her family, putting her own safety first and caring for her family more than herself, much like Tanjirō cares for her. After she was turned into a Demon by Muzan, much of her memories as a human were lost, mostly those related to her family.

She is still very caring and protective of other humans, whom she views as family members due to Urokodaki's influence while she was asleep for two years. She is also quite brash and doesn't seem to be afraid of fighting; she fiercely protects her brother and their allies. She has also developed a strong willpower, refusing to consume human flesh or blood, even in cases of extreme injury or exposure to human blood, such as Sanemi Shinazugawa's Marechi blood.
