Appearance

Nene Yashiro is a young girl with large magenta eyes that have orange/yellow accents. Her waist-length hair is a light cream color, which gradually fades into a soft teal at the tips and is styled with baby bangs across her forehead. She wears two dark brown magatama hair accessories on the side of her head, which pulls back some of her hair. Nene occasionally wears other hairstyles such as braids and pigtails.

Her hair color matches her signature nickname, which is "Radish" due to her fat, radish-like legs. Her ankles are drawn thicker than the other characters in the series.

Nene's Kamome Gakuen uniform consists of a cream-colored sailor dress, which reaches to her knees and has a scalloped hem. The lining of the skirt is a deep magenta, while the collar, cuffs, and pockets are brown with cream detailing. The bow on her neck is the same color as her dress and includes brown stripes; Nene also places her personal skull brooch over the bow. Nene sports the normal cream and orange uniform shoes, but chooses to wear dark brown stockings with a small crescent pattern near her ankles instead of the usual brown knee-high stockings.

Due to a curse she received after ingesting mermaid scales, Nene turns into a small fish whenever she comes into contact with water. In her fish form, she has round, deep-set eyes and light pink scales that fade to teal on her tail and fins. She has two small brown horns and retains her headband with a skull brooch. Her fish form is considered very beautiful by the Mermaid Servants.

When she is not fully turned into a fish, her body simply getting wet can cause Nene's pink fish scales to appear. The scales disappear after drying.

Kou Minamoto (源光) is one of the main characters of Jibaku Shōnen Hanako-kun. He is a young exorcist belonging to the Minamoto Exorcist Clan and is the younger brother of Minamoto Teru.

Characteristics

Appearance

He has short, unkempt blonde hair, with a wide lock falling in the middle of his forehead. His eyes are blue.

Like the other male uniforms at Kamome Academy, his consists of a light blue short-sleeved shirt with a white striped top; tight white pants with a belt; and shoes of the same color with a green detail on the tips. In addition, Kou wears a red bracelet on his right wrist; and an amulet hanging from his right ear. He usually carries a thunder staff.

Personality

Kou is cheerful, straightforward, and tends to jump headfirst into things without thinking about them first. Over the course of the story, he has shown to become more mature.

He is often mistaken for a bit of a delinquent or a tough guy, but that's not really the case. He's reckless and loud, but simultaneously he's also very kind and protective. He makes a distinct effort to be polite to the girls; even when he was about to confront Hanako in their first meeting he took the time to be polite to Nene and warn her of the danger she was in.

He has also been kind and open-minded enough to correct his opinion of Hanako and befriend her. This is probably due to the pressure he received from his older brother to exorcise the ghost, and his long-standing belief that supernaturals are evil.
