Despite his apparent narcissism, he actually has low self-esteem, and acts in a flamboyant and narcissistic way as an emotional defense mechanism, a result of his harsh upbringing and childhood bullying. As a young child, his classmates bullied him for being overweight, eventually leading him to lose weight and to adopt a new narcissistic visual-kei persona. He's also concerned about outright appearances to the point of dieting advises against dieting to Tatsuya, and tells him to lose weight by simply not eating so "then you can be like me."
At home, Eikichi acts completely differently, wearing traditional Japanese clothes and acting respectful under the fear of his father's intimidations. His father treats him as an extension of himself, essentially trying to force him to take over the sushi shop and to become a traditional hypermasculine Japanese man. Eikichi obeys and does not wear his visual-kei attire at home, as he states that he is scared of his father, who is rumored to learn 18 types of martial arts and has a black belt in Judo, to physically harm him. However, his father does not know such martial arts and he likely does not have a black belt in Judo, and only claimed he did to intimidate his son and put him in line. It is also stated in the Persona 2 World Guidance book that Eikichi's mother is supportive of his interests in both visual-kei and music.
Prompt
Despite their initial bickering, his bond with Lisa eventually becomes a friendship of mutual respect and understanding for their similar circumstances. As the narrative progresses, Eikichi connects with Lisa's parental and identity issues, and even threatens Tatsuya if he chooses to not save Lisa when prompted. Their mutual rapport allows Eikichi to outwardly express his emotional support for Lisa.
Eikichi is described as "Best Friends" via Contact mechanic with Jun, as they share a love of art and music, and even skip gym class together according to the Persona 2 World Guidance book. When Jun transferred to Kasugayama Highschool, rumors circulated that he was violent, but Eikichi took it upon himself to meet him, found him harmless, and vowed to protect him.
A 2nd year at Kasugayama High who has it in for Tatsuya. A narcissistic gang boss as well as lead vocalist in his band.
Eikichi lives in a sushi shop run by his father, Kankichi Mishina. Mr. Mishina would intimidate him into obedience by spreading rumors that he knows 18 types of martial arts, so he's afraid of him and would often run to play with his childhood friends in the Masked Circle.
Growing up, Eikichi Mishina is now the infamous "Death Boss" of Kasugayama High School, the boys' school for juvenile delinquents. He's called that partially from his reputation as a badass, and partially because he's a Persona user. He didn't know there were any other Persona users, or even what a Persona was, so he assumed that he was unique and could summon a Shinigami to help him fight. He claims to protect the weak from bullying in Kasugayama High, and is both feared and respected at both schools.
He has a band called Gas Chamber, whose logo he wears around his left arm. The other band members are Shogo, Ken, and Takeshi, and they practice in Sumaru Prison after school.
