Luffy has wild black hair, round black eyes, and a lean, muscular build. His most notable feature is his trademark Straw Hat (from which he gets his nickname "Straw Hat Luffy"), which was given to him as a youth by the legendary pirate captain, Red-Haired Shanks, who in turn received it from Gol D. Roger, the Pirate King. His attire is also vaguely similar to Shanks', wearing either short or long pants that are pulled up, along with sandals and a red vest or shirt. Luffy also has a two-dot scar below his left eye (he gave it to himself in Chapter 1). He was severely injured by Sakazuki in the war against Whitebeard, leaving a large X-shaped scar on his chest. At first glance Luffy appears to be thin and not very corpulent, but has a surprisingly well-built physique.

Luffy typically wears the same outfit throughout most of the series, though he often changes the color of his outfits or the accessories he wears, such as his mid-arm bracelet on Amazon Lily or yellow, red, blue, or green clothing, among others. Luffy may wear a different outfit to suit an island's climate (such as a hooded jacket on Drum Island or desert robes on Alabasta), but reverts to his normal attire (vest and shorts) after the adventures on said islands are over.

Although Luffy usually wears a red vest and blue pants, he wears his usual outfit in different colors: For example, in Enies Lobby he wears black pants, as they had large pockets that he could carry Water 7's meat in, in Thriller Bark he wears an orange vest and red shorts, and in Sabaody Archipelago he wears a blue vest and dark blue pants. During the assault on Impel Down Luffy is shown wearing a light blue vest and red shorts, and after the fight against Magellan, Inazuma gives him a yellow vest, which he also wears during the battle at Marineford. However, no matter where he is, he always carries his Straw Hat everywhere, though at first, the hat was prone to falling off his head easily, forcing Luffy to either put it aside or pass it to someone while he was fighting. He has since gotten a rope strap sewn onto him by Nami, allowing the hat to hang around his neck during fights.

Luffy has also worn various ornaments such as bracelets on occasion. During the Skypiea Arc, he was seen wearing a black bracelet around his left wrist with a white bracelet underneath, and after the battle against Gecko Moria on Thriller Bark, Luffy wore a bracelet with dark decoration around his left bicep. This bracelet was later revealed to be a map leading to Captain John's lost treasure, which Buggy had been searching for some time ago, prompting Luffy to give it to him. This bracelet is meant to be a reward for Buggy's services in leading him through all of the levels in Impel Down.

Luffy from One Piece could be classified as an ESFP (Extraverted, Sensing, Emotional, Perceiving) personality type. He frequently demonstrates his extroverted nature by openly expressing his emotions and willingness to interact with others.

Zoro wears a white shirt, black pants, boots of the same color and uses a green haramaki, traditional samurai armor, although his is not of the original design: he usually uses it only to hold his swords. He always carries with him a black bandana that he usually wears tied on the forearm of his left arm, and he always ties it to his head when he fights seriously, giving him a more sinister image that causes fear in many of his opponents, and some even claim that he is a real demon. Like Luffy, he usually changes his outfit in a situation or place that has an extreme climate such as Arabasta or Drum. The only thing he does not change is his pants and he rarely takes off the haramaki, although he has been seen without it on occasion.

He is the fourth tallest member of the crew, measuring 175 cm to be exact. He has a very serious look and wears three golden earrings in his left ear. His hair is green, which has caused Sanji to call him "Marimo" (a round, green seaweed). The latter has led to various and very funny situations in which even he has been confused. He has a scar on his chest made by Mihawk in his duel against him. He also has two scars on his legs from when Nami, Vivi and he were captured by Mr. 3 during the Little Garden arc.

After the two-year time skip, Zoro has grown and is now 181 cm tall, has a new scar crossing his left eye (although in his first appearance on the cover of chapter 598, the scar was incorrectly placed on his right eye), and it was hinted in chapter 599 that he may have lost his eye during his training with Mihawk. His body appears much thicker and more muscular. Zoro now wears a long, open dark green coat, closed at his waist by a red sash, into which his swords are tucked, and his black bandana is tied around his left sleeve. He does not have any shirt on underneath, and his green haramaki is visible under the coat.
Personality. Zoro, also known as "the Pirate Hunter", is an expert swordsman in the Santōryū (three-sword style). He uses three swords, carrying one in each hand and one in his mouth. He is brave, strong and always keeps his word, although he is also quite temperamental.
He likes to compete and argue with Sanji even in the most inappropriate of occasions; however, when the two work together against a common enemy, they are extremely strong and even nearly unstoppable. Usopp and Tony Tony Chopper are always impressed with his monstrous strength and bad boy attitude.
Zoro is a great swordsman, and many of his enemies are already familiar with his brutal ways and swordsmanship. But he is also known for his fierce loyalty. As the authoritative voice of the crew, Zoro has earned the respect and trust of his fellow crew members.
Zoro is capable of using all three types of Haki. Zoro has specialized in Busoshoku Haki, with which he has demonstrated great mastery.

Nami (ナミ, Nami?), nicknamed Cat Burglar (泥棒猫, Dorobō Neko?),[12] is a pirate and the navigator of the Straw Hat Pirates, as well as one of the main officers of the Straw Hat Grand Fleet. She is the third member of the crew and the second to join, officially doing so during the Arlong Park arc.[13]

Nami is a young, average-sized girl with a slender build, and originally had short orange hair. In the anime, she was the first main character to appear in Episode 1 before Luffy (although in the manga she appeared at the beginning of the Orange City Arc). Many people consider her to be very attractive and beautiful, once comparing her to a goddess. She has a blue (black in the manga) tattoo on her left shoulder depicting a tangerine and a pinwheel (an homage to Bell-mère and Genzo, respectively), where she previously had a tattoo indicating that she was a member of Arlong's crew.

Nami wears a variety of clothes in the series, but her long-lasting outfit is a blue and white striped shirt, an orange miniskirt, and orange high-heeled boots. Nami wears high-heeled sandals or boots in each arc, but her height and posture are not affected by the height of her heels. Nami does not walk like a normal person in heels, instead she functions while wearing them. She retains her original appearance until the end of the Captain Kuro Arc, after which she is seen wearing a different dress for each arc.
After the time jump
After the two-year time skip, Nami's hair has grown quite a bit, extending down to her lower back. Her breasts have also grown larger and rounder, like Robin, but other than that her appearance hasn't changed much, save for the fact that the curves of her body and figure have become more pronounced.

After the time skip, according to Sanji and Oda, his height is 170 cm, and his measurements are B98-W58-H88 (J-cup)

Aside from increasing her measurements, she has also grown. Her outfit after the timeskip consists of a revealing green and white striped bikini bra, low and long jeans (which highlight her hips), orange sandals with slightly higher heels than the previous ones, and a pair of pearls as earrings (clothes that she wore in Sabaody and on Fishman Island.

After bathing before entering the New World, Nami wears the same jeans, but now her bikini is a red and yellow Crimminal brand, with the right side bearing this brand, and the left side adorned with stars. She has been seen wearing a long black coat and later replaced by a light-colored one (created by Kinemon) in the cold Punk Hazard area.

During the Dressrosa Arc she wears shorts with her usual hoops on the sides, on the upper half she wears a white top with red and yellow flower prints with ruffles on its top, she also wears an unusual pink flower pendant and wears her usual sandals.
Nami can be described as a greedy, manipulative, uninhibited, temperamental and fearful person when faced with certain dangers. However, this does not prevent Nami from having moments where she shows bravery, kindness and respect for the people she cares about.

For most of the story, Usopp is a young man with fair but tanned skin and a slim build, large round eyes, thick lips and very curly black hair of medium length; although the most striking feature of his appearance is undoubtedly his long nose (which is apparently an allusion to the character of Pinocchio, the protagonist of a story of the same name, a wooden boy whose nose grew every time he told lies). This striking feature was apparently inherited from his mother, while in all other features of his face he is practically identical to his father (this is remarkable even taking into account that his father's appearance has undergone many changes over time; especially in regards to his hair, which goes from being the same black and curly as his son's to being blond and wearing dreadlocks). As far as his body is concerned, Usopp is somewhat taller than Luffy (he is 174 cm tall) and his build is, if we make comparison, more similar to that of Sanji and the captain.

He usually wears a dark, yellow-checkered scarf on his head to keep his curly hair out of his eyes; and just above it he wears special shooter glasses, with precision lenses and magnifying capacity, which he can raise and lower over his eyes as needed. For a good part of the course of his journey as a pirate he remains permanently attached to this accessory, so those characteristic glasses are a practically essential detail in almost all the different outfits he wears throughout his adventure. The clothing that has been most associated with his image, especially at the beginning of the story, are dark brown overalls that he usually wore without a shirt underneath; although during the Skypiea saga he wore a dark green T-shirt, and sometimes left the suspenders hanging. He has not undergone major changes in clothing unless the situation forced him to; as for example in the Kingdom of Drum, an island with a winter climate where he wore a coat and hat; or in the Sabaody Archipelago, where the good weather allowed him to go out in a bathing suit and an open shirt. Apart from these examples, he has hardly changed his style of clothing, keeping it rather informal, and which could easily be combined with his habit of always carrying a heterogeneous arsenal of objects of his own, such as certain types of weapons and projectiles.

What he has never changed about his appearance is a kind of jacket, in which he keeps all the artifacts he owns, which he always wears. He also usually shows preference for wearing "big shoes" with a robust appearance and rounded toe, in contrast to Luffy who always wears flip-flops.

Oda has stated in several SBS that Usopp is represented by the armadillo.[11] Oda has also said that he uses the color yellow to represent Usopp, and smells like gunpowder.[12] In one SBS when a fan asks the heights of the Straw Hats, Oda states that Usopp was 174 cm tall. After the timeskip, he is now 176 cm tall.[13][14]

Following the timeskip, Usopp has regained his form (although he is considerably more muscular, like Luffy or Zoro), has grown a goatee similar to Sanji's, and has noticeably longer hair. As for clothing, the typical rag on his head has been replaced by a white cloth hat, he wears his sniper goggles around his neck and a headset. In addition, he has changed his backpack for a red one with white straps, and his clothing set for an elaborate yellow pair of pants with red suspenders, and his kabuto for a shorter, black one, called the Black Kabuto.
Personality. Usopp is one of the most sentimental of the Straw Hat Pirates, and cries or gets angry easily in times of emotional stress. At the beginning of the series, Usopp was a compulsive liar who was easily scared.

Nico Robin is a tall, slender but athletic woman with shoulder-length black hair. Her eyes are blue in the anime (with large, wide dark blue pupils at the beginning and black later on) and brown in the manga (also in the 10th movie). Her nose is long and straight, slender and defined. Robin's limbs are very long, especially her legs, which greatly contributes to both her combat ability (given the nature of her powers) and her overall height; and, like most female characters in the series, she has a narrow waist. Many people consider her attractive or beautiful.

She does not have a trademark look like everyone else, though her "cowgirl" look with a purple color theme when she was first introduced is often associated as her trademark look. She frequently wears some dark-colored clothing (mostly black or purple), or made up of leather, sometimes both. She seems to be fond of wearing high heels. Both Robin and Nami wear high heels and light clothing; and, like her, heels do not affect Robin's height, posture or form, or speed or walking. She also tends to wear a cowboy hat, though she has not worn it again since the timeskip.

She has been seen on numerous occasions wearing a striking gold bracelet with the shape of the letter "N" on it (referring to her last name "Nico"), and made up of two purple leather strips and white fringes.

In the anime, Robin's skin tone is slightly darker compared to the manga, where it is lighter. Robin also resembles her mother greatly, with the exception of her hair color and style, as well as having a slightly darker skin tone than her.

In the Arabasta saga, she wore a leather outfit consisting of a purple corset that exposed much of her cleavage and midriff, as well as leaving her shoulders bare, and a skimpy white miniskirt. Both the skirt and corset, as well as high-heeled cowboy boots, are decorated with fringe and leather stitching. At various points in the saga, she covered her light clothing with a heavy, long white coat.

Later on, her attire remains almost identical. At first she paired her usual outfit with tight purple or violet-hued pants (the same shade as her previous outfit), and a jacket of the same color with long sleeves and raised lapels at the collar that is short enough to expose her belly button area. At other times, such as in filler arcs, she borrowed clothing from Nami that consisted of loose blouses and long pants.

After the time jump
After two years, Robin's hair is pulled back past his shoulders, revealing more of his forehead and ears. During his time away from the crew, his skin became a lighter color, much like in the manga.

Her post-timeskip outfit now consists of a long pink skirt with a partly violet zippered leather vest with a Boa Hancock-like "V" neck line and a white (dark blue in the anime) rose printed on the front of her left shoulder, ray-van-type sunglasses, pink high-heeled shoes, and a pink (lilac in the anime) colored backpack.

Like Nami, her breasts have become much larger and more voluptuous and the curves of her body and figure have become more pronounced.

Its current measurements are (according to Sanji and Oda himself) B100-W60-H90 [15].
She stands out for her personality; her wisdom, her patience and serenity, and also for being very intelligent. She is the most serene of all the members of the crew. Robin has a childish side in which she imagines cute or tender things, although she does not show it in front of others.

Sanji is a tall man (the 5th tallest in the crew) with a thin build, who keeps part of his face and left eye permanently hidden by his straight blond hair.

In fact, his left eye has been seen so rarely in the anime (only a few seconds during episodes 21, 27, 82 and 128, as well as in the 6th movie; but always in brief sightings where part of his gaze is seen, mostly due to animation errors), that many fans have wondered if Sanji actually did not have a left eye (in fact, his left eye has never been seen in the manga; except, of course, after his look change after the time skip). However, Oda himself revealed that his left eye is nothing special.

Another of the biggest peculiarities of his appearance is precisely in his face, and it also has to do with his eyes. It is precisely his eyebrows, which have an abnormally curved spiral shape in a clockwise direction. The mockery by some of his crewmates in this regard (which almost always comes from Zoro) especially bothers him. After his bloodline factor awakened, Sanji's eyebrows are now curved in the opposite direction, just like his brothers in an anti-clockwise direction.

He always dresses elegantly, and has rarely been seen to do without his characteristic black suit, usually due to the demands of the weather, such as when he travels through the jungle in Skypiea or the Arabasta desert. It could be said that the only item of clothing that can vary from his attire is his shirts, and he has been seen wearing more than ten different models.

After the time skip, Sanji now has his right eye hidden (he also shows the eyebrow that is strangely curled to the left) by his blond hair. He has grown a goatee and a bit of a beard. Otherwise he still wears a suit, only his tie has changed, and his hair has grown longer.

According to Oda, it mostly looks like a duck, represented by the color blue, and its smell is of seafood and cigarettes.
Sanji is an egocentric who considers himself handsome, good-looking and charming, often comparing himself to a prince from a fairy tale. So far he hasn't met any woman who agrees with him and is usually brought back to reality by the more realistic people around him.
He is quite protective of the female members of the crew, and Nami usually takes advantage of this fact; Robin does not usually actively take advantage of him, but receives the same affectionate treatment. He gets along fairly well with Usopp, although he occasionally hits him, Brook, and Luffy for imitating him or not acting maturely. Sanji initially wanted to cook Chopper, and sometimes refers to him as "Emergency Food" to annoy him. Nonetheless, he considers Chopper a great friend and gives him and Usopp advice when they need it. He often gets angry with Brook for his bad habits with women, but they get along well when it comes to women. In short, he cares for his crew in the same way that each of the Straw Hats does.

He is a blue-nosed reindeer who ate the Hito Hito no Mi, gaining human form and intelligence. Most of the time, Chopper remains a small, humanoid reindeer in shape (Brain Point); his Devil Fruit's abilities allow him to change appearance depending on the situation. Chopper's left horn has a metal plate around it because he broke it in a fight when he was younger, and Hiriluk treated it for him. Chopper has one notable feature that no other reindeer have: his blue nose.

Several characters in One Piece have initially thought that Chopper is a raccoon (from the Japanese word "tanuki"), due to the way he looks when he is in his "Brain Point" form. This is actually a pun: the Japanese term "tonakai", meaning reindeer, is where the "Tony" in Chopper's full name comes from. Unlike in his "Brain Point" form, when Chopper is in his "Heavy Point" form, he is mistaken for a gorilla or a yeti.

The author has said that he uses the color pink to represent him, that the animal he most resembles is a reindeer (obviously) and that his favorite food is cotton candy and sweet things in general.

Chopper is 7 years old (reindeer), which is equivalent to 15 in human form; he is the youngest of the crew. He is also arguably the shortest and tallest in height, as he is normally in "Brain Point", being smaller than everyone, but when he reaches "Monster Point" he becomes much bigger. Another notable detail is that every time he takes a step he makes a strange sound. This happens in all his states, except "Horn Point".

After the time skip
After the passage of two years, Chopper once again wears a cap, roughly the same size as his old pink hat. The X has a white circle around it, and a ring of dots around the circle. It also has buckles. Chopper's hybrid form has changed very little, aside from being slightly slimmer. His animal form has grown considerably, with a size (at the withers) almost reaching Usopp's height. His antlers are much larger, he has developed more muscle, and his fur is also longer. His human form is now more muscular, stronger, monstrous, larger, and hairier.
Personality. Chopper is naive and shy, often acting like a child and being quite skittish. He has trouble defining his role in the crew and sees everyone else as role models, imitating their behaviors (especially Usopp's).
Chopper's dream is to become a great doctor who can cure any disease (even heart disease), so he decides to travel around the world, exploring with his friends and expanding his horizons, with the ambition of learning the cures for all ills.

Zoro is reserved, though often acting comically; he also has a poor sense of direction, to the point of getting lost even on straight paths or when someone is guiding him. When he and the rest of the crew are sailing, Zoro is either sleeping or training. He and Sanji have a great rivalry, fighting (verbally and physically) over unimportant matters and very often, in inopportune situations and/or moments, although when they cooperate (which is rarely the case) they form a great team.

Zoro is determined to become the best swordsman in the world, a goal he seeks to achieve after Kuina's death. Since then Zoro has dedicated himself to training and getting stronger to be one step closer to his dream. After each fight against an enemy during his journey he reflects and looks for what he should improve to become stronger. Although he follows a specific goal, Zoro enjoys fighting and facing different opponents and whenever he can he ends up causing some conflict or scandal, a trait he shares with Luffy. He is very proud and stubborn, every time Chopper orders him to rest due to his injuries received in each fight he simply ignores them and continues his usual routine, which shows that he is not worried about what happens to his body as long as he can fulfill his dream.
Zoro can also be very vigorous and will not back down when he is determined to achieve a goal or defeat an enemy. This determination is shown in the Baratie Arc when Zoro faces Mihawk in which he loses but is forgiven by Mihawk upon seeing someone with as much determination as Luffy. When Zoro intends to fight seriously, he will usually put his black bandana (which he usually has tied over his left arm) on his head.
Similar to Sanji, Zoro is not as aggressive when confronted with women.

Due to the personality of his captain, other characters consider him to be the captain of the crew upon meeting them, and some characters such as Bartolomeo have gone so far as to say that Zoro is Luffy's right-hand man.

He has a certain fondness for wanting to cut everything up. He is annoyed when people call him "marimo" (green algae).
Zoro, like Nami, is sometimes angered by Luffy's clueless leadership, but deep down he trusts him completely as the latter is very brave. He likes to compete and argue with Sanji even in the most inappropriate of occasions; however, when the two work together against a common enemy, they are extremely strong and even nearly unstoppable. Usopp and Tony Tony Chopper are always impressed with his monstrous strength and bad boy attitude. Due to his simple and straightforward nature, Zoro is frequently exploited by Nami, particularly in financial matters, charging her with interest. It took him a long time to accept Robin into the crew even longer than it took him to accept Brook (it was just a scare) because he had the idea that she could be a danger. His relationship with her evolved to the point of protecting her on repeated occasions and seeing them relatively together.
