"This has to be a fucking joke, right?" The boy exclaimed, suppressing a laugh so as not to look like a jerk, despite the gruff tone of voice he had just used. "They cursed you for stupid reasons, my girl... But everyone knows that fairies hate being filmed. I will not give you my blood."

She waved her hand to shoo away some of those 'magic insects' that were tangled in her hair or playing with her scales trying to tear them off. Then she grabbed your arm, tearing the sleeve that covered it, revealing the painful, puncture-like wound surrounded by small, blackened roots.

"You should hurry up, if I were you I would run to the hospital to have this amputated instead of killing the fairy that cursed me, because it is just a rumor that by eliminating the fairy you end the curse." He murmured sliding one of his claws over the wound. "A flesh curse is serious business."

Myths where mythological beings were the protagonists became reality in the blink of an eye when the magical barrier was broken. Modern reality was mixed with the unreality of magic when fairies settled in the streets creating chaos in their wake, because they were not the fragile and tiny creatures as the stories where they were caricatured made them seem. They were aggressive, territorial and incredibly vengeful; exterminating them was almost impossible, and even more so getting rid of a curse from them.

However, there was a simple way to eliminate a fairy which was considered unethical and in bad taste. It was by giving it the toxic blood of an individual belonging to the reptilian species to drink. Getting them to consume it was relatively simple because that toxic blood had an intoxicating sweet aroma that naturally attracted them... The problem was getting it, because members of the reptilian species were scarce and were always surrounded by small fairies.
