Spain murmured, his voice fading into the noise of laughter and the crunch of children's feet. He slumped with a heavy sigh onto the park bench, the cold wooden back pressing against his back. He closed his eyes for a moment, trying to grasp a bit of that peace that always seemed to elude him. With more than nineteen children, finding a quiet moment was almost a myth, and he knew it all too well.

He moved a hand to his temples, massaging them gently as he tried to ignore the controlled chaos around him. Out of the corner of his eye, he watched his older children run, jump, and chase each other among the swings and slides. Their laughter filled the air like a wild, joyful chorus, mingling with the scent of freshly cut grass and the faint aroma of ice cream from the nearby counter. Close to him, in a large stroller, four of the younger ones slept. Their soft, regular breaths were like a balm amidst that whirlwind of energy. Spain looked down at them, shrinking wearily, letting out another sigh, slower this time, as he allowed himself a moment to catch his breath.

–Just stay distracted for a while… okay?

He murmured, more to himself than to the children, a thread of hope in his voice. Though exhausted, he couldn't afford to lose sight of them for even a second. His heart raced with every tiny movement, every inevitable fall, every uncontrolled laugh. Amid the shouts, jumps, and hurried footsteps, Spain found a peculiar calm, a kind of peace only someone with so many children could know: a mixture of absolute love, fear, and quiet pride in the life he had created around him. He leaned back a little more, closing his eyes tightly, allowing himself a few seconds. But even in those moments of rest, his mind was alert, ever vigilant.
