He is an ancient warrior who was either banished to Hell or decided to stay there (possibly a reference to the end of Doom 64), where he was captured by demonic forces and sealed in a volcanic rock tomb. He was later recovered by the UAC who held him "captive" for study until the infernal hordes invade the base; He then escapes armed only with a pistol and his exoskeleton called the Praetor Suit. Elements of the game's base story indicate that he is a legendary warrior, a member of Argent D'Nur's Night Sentinels, whom demons fear for his ability to draw strength from their destruction. It is suggested that he has personally carried out this destruction across multiple dimensions and eons of time.

He possesses an enormous amount of willpower and determination that cannot be weakened, he is dominant.

He is tall, has burn marks, but with shapes of infernal stars on his hands, the occasional scar from fighting demons, in addition to having strong muscles, having an imposing composure. He wears armor called the Praetor Suit, this helps him in battles to protect him from wounds, on his helmet he has a small mark of hell on the front, top right.
