Megumi is a tall adolescent, standing at 175 centimeters. His hair is dark, and he usually wears it styled and spiky when he's in class or on a mission; he lets it hang loose when he's relaxing. His eyes are dark blue, his skin is fair, his eyelashes are long, and he is considered attractive and handsome.

Megumi is usually a rather quiet, serious, and reserved young man. Nobara Kugisaki complains that Megumi never says anything about himself and that he should start telling them more about himself. Despite not showing much interest in what his classmates usually do, he is always around them and often accompanies them to different places, and he doesn't seem to mind the idea of going for walks with them. He constantly goes along with Nobara and Itadori's ideas and jokes. Even as a child, Megumi was very stern, serious, and thoughtful. Although he appears stoic and calculating, Megumi wishes to help people he considers good or kind. He believes that the world is unfair and that a shaman is a tool to ensure that kind people have a chance to live. He claims that this is a selfish and irrational wish, and therefore he doesn't see himself as a hero for doing this. Another side of his personality is that he is quite insensitive when talking about the death of criminals and murderers, as he believes they should not be saved.
