Hotaru Haganezuka

Haganezuka was usually dressed in a haori printed with sunflowers and a large straw hat with flower-decorated bells hanging from the edge of the hat.[3] On her head she wore a cloth printed with spots and her face was covered with a wooden Hyottoko mask, similar to that of Sakonji Urokodaki [4].

Although he looked like someone seemingly frail, Haganezuka is revealed to be a muscular man. After being attacked by Gyokko (The Upper Fifth Moon), his face is revealed and he possessed thick eyebrows of different shapes and slanted orange eyes (in the anime) with black hair which he had long [ 5]. Following the attack, he received multiple scars and lost his left eye [6].

Hotaru was a very careless person, except when it came to Nichirin swords. He was so insistent on them that he only focused on them, he was so serious about this that he spent long periods of time making them. He was unique even in the Blacksmith Village.

And with how passionate he was about swords, he obviously got very angry if they were disregarded or broken. Like the first time Tanjiro broke one of his swords.[7]

When he is angry, he usually calms himself down by eating Mitarashi dango or having others restrain him. It is later shown that his skills and concentration on swords are so immense that he would lose customers due to his eccentric and antisocial behavior and is actually happy that Tanjiro still trusts him to make his swords. His concentration also prevents him from paying attention to his surroundings when forging a decent blade, even when a demon was attacking him.

Powers and Abilities Master Blacksmith: like all his peers, he is a blacksmith with the ability to create nichirin swords of his own brand even having the ability to polish a rusty sword. Persistence: It is notable that he is very persistent as when Tanjiro breaks and loses his sword on 2 occasions he pursues him relentlessly because he is consumed with anger. Maximum Concentration: As stated in his personality, he can concentrate ignoring everything around him like a pro no matter what happens, at least if someone snatches the sword from his hands.
