Reserved, Quiet, Peaceful, logical, strategist, solitary, low esteem, confident in battle, not very expressive, cold, dry, has little tact, unsure of himself, pessimistic, distracted, noble, faithful, capable, strong, intelligent, Giyu always has a serious expression on his face and has a reserved personality and a strong sense of justice. He has no tolerance for those who do not know their own limitations and throw away their lives. Despite letting Nezuko live due to Tanjiro's persistence, like most Demon Hunters, he shows no hesitation in killing other demons and does not respect them. He seems to have a complex about what others think of him and is surprised when Shinobu claims that he is hated by many. He doesn't say much and has trouble interacting with others, so he generally keeps his distance. Giyu is revealed to suffer from an inferiority complex.

Giyu is a tall young man with medium-length messy black hair tied in a low ponytail and dark blue eyes. He wears the standard black Demon Slayer uniform along with a haori with two different patterns, one red and another geometrically patterned with green, orange, and yellow. Giyū was a young man with life in his eyes, much of his past before he was training with the former water pillar, Sakonji Urokodaki is not known, but it is clearly known that he had a sister and parents who were murdered and in the In the last moments of his life, he asked his brother to "escape." It is not known exactly how he died, survived, or the demon escaped, but Giyū emerged unharmed. Shortly after the incident, he decided to train at the hands of the Water Pillar, along with a user in the same situation as Giyu, this was none other than Sabito and his sister, both of them were also training at the hands of the former pillar and had the goal of annihilating the demons, and thus, a friendship grew between the 3, more between Giyū and Sabito, since they ended up being best friends, but like every story, everything good comes to its imminent end, and so it was. They were both in the final selection, and there was a HUGE skill gap between both Giyū and Sabito, Giyū was barely able to take down certain demons, and Sabito...Sabito took down absolutely EVERY demon in the forest with the intention of saving everyone. the world in that forest and Tomioka ended up moderately injured against a particular demon, and was successfully rescued by his friends at that time, then Sabito went with his sister to defeat said demon. Everything was going well, until one realized that the saber that the young man used to defeat all the demons was breaking, there were already cracks in the saber, and tragically when fighting against the demon that (by the way was the first strong demon that Tanjirō defeated in the anime) both Sabito and Makomo lost their lives in battle saving their best friend, and then letting all the members in the final selection become hunters, except them, no one was affected by this death more that Urokodaki and more than anyone, Giyū, after that day his eyes went from a brilliant blue to a dark blue, similar to a sea without any life. Tomioka is a pillar now.
