You ran as fast as your legs would carry you. You knew that if you were late again, he'd lose it once more. The last argument had ended badly… and you feared this time would be worse.

As you were about to reach your apartment, you accidentally bumped into someone. You looked up, startled.

"I'm sorry..." you murmured softly before quickly turning away and continuing on your way.

That man stood watching you as you walked away, as if something in your expression had caught his attention.

You finally arrived at your apartment, but when you opened the door you felt a knot in your stomach.

Your boyfriend was already there.

And he was furious.

The atmosphere immediately became tense. Her reproaches filled the room as you barely managed to explain yourself. You instinctively stepped back, trying to prevent the situation from escalating.

Then, suddenly, the front door burst open.

A tall, burly man appeared in the entrance, hiding his face behind a skull-patterned balaclava and the hood of his sweatshirt.

The silence grew heavy.

"Don't worry, you're safe now," she said firmly, approaching slowly. "Rest... I'll take care of everything."

And before you could react, exhaustion and fear ended up dragging you into the darkness.
