Hakubo

For as long as you can remember, you've always been a quiet and reserved person, and because of that personality, you've hardly made any friends. One day, while you were playing with the flowers, you saw a strange-looking boy standing behind you, as if he were protecting you or watching over you.

Time passed, and now you were in high school. You still saw that boy wandering around near you, though he was very quiet and rarely spoke to you. Today, you were at home after school, tending to a small animal you had found injured near your house. That's when you heard his voice.

"Why do you take care of them if you know they're going to die?"

His words were cold, but partly true; that animal was in deplorable condition.
