He was the bully of his own brother Evan Afton and the main antagonist in Five Nights at Freddy's 4 and also being that Michael was a teenage bully, an abusive brother and an employee of Fazbear Entertainment (theorized)

Michael Afton is a typical bully older brother, he's quite rude, sarcastic and biting but he doesn't speak in a direct manner and doesn't seem to hate his younger brother Evan Afton, he only likes to pick on Evan Afton because Evan had an irrational fear of the animatronics at Fredbear's, Michael would sometimes hide to scare his younger brother Evan, Michael always carried his Foxy mask with him.

He is reckless as he thought that putting his little brother Evan in Fredbear's jaw was a funny joke to pull, which ended up hospitalizing his little brother Evan, after that incident Michael Afton was traumatized and feeling immense guilt and remorse for his actions.

That pregnancy of Clara Afton had not really been planned since William Afton did not really want children but during a carelessness while William Afton and Clara Smith were having sex, Clara Smith ended up being pregnant as a result of the love she had with William Afton, years passed and in the years between 1967 and 1970 Clara Smith gave birth to a boy whom they named Michael Afton, Michael and Clara and William lived a quiet life and William became less and less loving with Michael, William had become someone cold and serious and arrogant being disinterested in the good of his son, soon Clara gave birth to 1 girl whom she named Elizabeth Afton, over time that girl Elizabeth was 8 years old and was somewhat grumpy and funny, Elizabeth was very attached to her father William Afton, that bothered William Afton so William Afton began to be colder and more serious with his daughter causing Elizabeth to feel bad and try to get William's attention with drawings or grades but nothing worked, William showed no affection and soon Clara became pregnant again but this would be the last child she would have with William, that new born child was named Evan Afton, Evan was fearful, shy and was sensitive on many occasions, Evan was also attached to his father William Afton but he accepted the fact that William did not love him, while Michael and Elizabeth kept trying and kept trying to get William's attention but not reaching any good results, Michael soon began to detest his father, those 3 children began to see how William and Clara's relationship was corrupted having discussions that were not so heated, but soon those discussions between William and Clara began to be more frequent and more aggressive causing one night while William and Clara argued again, William asked for a divorce this caused great anger and sadness in Clara causing Clara to slap William

Clara left home desperate, with her heart in pieces because of the divorce, that night it began to rain and Clara was driving fast in that car she had, which she went up away from home, but she did not realize that she entered a road that was under construction and while she was still driving and crying inconsolably she opened her eyes in shock before her car fell and fell into the sea causing the drowning and death of Clara Afton, William went to Clara's funeral, William being accompanied by his 3 children, Michael, Elizabeth and Evan who were in shock and crying silently for the death of their mother Clara, but William did not suffer instead he just smiled and went to the car followed by Elizabeth and Evan worse Michael stayed there kneeling in front of his mother's grave, crying inconsolably, since that accident nothing was the same again, now Michael is the one who had to take care of his 2 younger brothers since William worked a lot and did not show any interest in his children, Michael was annoyed having to take care of Evan and Elizabeth,
although most of the time Michael ran away from home to have fun with his friends causing Evan and Elizabeth to be alone at home, although on school days Michael had to go to high school and had to take Evan and Elizabeth to elementary school, Elizabeth hated her older brother Michael a little although Evan did not hate his older brother Michael much, Evan sometimes tried to get along with Michael but there was no cooperation, causing Evan not to consider Michael as his older brother, William spent his time talking to Henry Emily with whom they made plans and plans for their pizzeria Freddy Fazbear's Pizzeria Simulator, in that pizzeria William and Henry were the owners and creators of that pizzeria

Michael Afton suffered so much because of the accident since Evan Afton was in a coma, his younger brother, Simon, Mark and Frederick being friends of Michael tried to comfort him and try to make him okay, but Michael blamed his friends for the accident and yelled at them, and Evan's friends tried to tell him that it was an accident and that he and they were to blame.

The event occurred during a joke by 4 teenagers whose names were Mark, Frederick, Simon and Michael Afton, Michael Afton was Evan's older brother who also participated in the joke that would be done to Evan, that joke did not end well since the joke that seemed like a harmless joke ended up being the almost death of Evan since that joke was about placing Evan's head in Fredbear's jaw, Evan's head got stuck inside the jaws of Fredbear's animatronic, Fredbear began to fail and closed his jaw causing the laughter to fall silent when hearing the noise of something breaking, that noise came from Evan and blood fell from Evan and Evan no longer screamed or cried there was only silence, it all started as a joke and ended in tragedy and despair, ... Evan was in a coma in poor condition, since the damage to his skull was deep and in addition to blood loss in the incident, Michael tried to explain things to his father William Afton, but he was furious and slapped him
