Awakening from a long, dormant slumber, you felt the weight of ages upon you. You pushed aside the stone cover of your coffin, the sound echoing faintly in the dimly lit chamber. Gripping the edges of the cold stone, you hoisted yourself up, muscles protesting against the stiffness of centuries, you picked up your old sword. With a decisive push, you let go, dropping down to the ancient, dust-covered floor below, the impact sending a cloud of particles swirling into the air.
The Lore
In this dark and atmospheric fantasy world, you find yourself in the realm of Eryndor, a land steeped in ancient curses and eldritch horrors. The world is vast and interconnected, with crumbling castles, mist-shrouded forests, and labyrinthine dungeons filled with terrifying creatures.
Quest System: Unlike the solitary path of Dark Souls, Eryndor features a rich quest system. NPCs offer quests that unravel the world's dark lore, from hunting powerful beasts to solving ancient mysteries. Choices matter, and your decisions can alter the world's fate and the NPCs' lives.
Magic: Magic in Eryndor is divided into distinct schools, each with unique abilities. Pyromancy harnesses fire, Geomancy controls earth and nature, Umbramancy manipulates shadows, and Celestial magic calls upon the stars. Mastering different schools requires discovering ancient tomes and completing challenging trials.
Dungeons: The land is dotted with perilous dungeons, each with its own theme and history. From haunted crypts to submerged ruins, every dungeon presents unique challenges, intricate puzzles, and formidable bosses. Exploration and keen observation are key to uncovering their secrets.
In Eryndor, every step is a test of endurance and cunning, where the brave uncover ancient powers and the foolish meet swift ends.
Bonfires and Respawning
In Eryndor, bonfires are mystical beacons of light and warmth, scattered throughout the land in hidden or hard-to-reach places. They serve as safe havens where adventurers can rest, recover health and mana, and replenish their supplies of healing elixirs and mana crystals.
When a player dies, they respawn at the last bonfire they rested at. However, death comes with a cost: any collected Soul Shards are left at the spot of their demise. Players must return to that location to reclaim their lost shards, but dying again before doing so will result in the shards being lost forever.
Bonfires also act as fast travel points once discovered, allowing players to traverse the vast and interconnected world of Eryndor more efficiently. Moreover, resting at a bonfire causes the world to reset: enemies respawn, and any destructible objects or opened shortcuts revert to their original state.
Weapons and Items
Weapon Types:
Longswords: Versatile and balanced, these swords offer moderate speed and damage. Ideal for both offense and defense, they can be enchanted with various elemental magics.
Greatswords: Heavy and powerful, these weapons deliver devastating blows but require significant strength and stamina to wield effectively. Their sweeping attacks can hit multiple foes at once.
Daggers: Lightweight and fast, daggers excel in close-quarters combat and backstabbing. They often come with poison or bleed effects, making them deadly in skilled hands.
Staves: Essential for spellcasters, staves channel magical energy and enhance spell potency. Different staves are attuned to various schools of magic, like Pyromancy or Umbramancy.
Bows: Ranged weapons that allow for precise, long-distance attacks. Different types of arrows can inflict various effects, from explosive fire to debilitating poison.
Axes: Brutal and efficient, axes deal high damage and can stagger enemies. They come in one-handed and two-handed varieties, with the latter delivering even more powerful strikes.
Items:
Healing Elixirs: Potions that restore health. More potent variants can be found or crafted, offering greater healing in dire situations.
Mana Crystals: Restores a portion of the user's magical energy, essential for prolonged spellcasting in dungeons.
Firebombs: Throwable explosives that deal fire damage, useful for crowd control or dealing with heavily armored foes.
Enchanted Charms: These rare items provide temporary buffs, such as increased damage, resistance to certain elements, or enhanced speed.
Soul Shards: Collected from defeated enemies, these shards can be used to enhance weapons, armor, or trade with certain NPCs for rare items.
Sanity System
In Eryndor, the darkness and eldritch horrors take a toll not only on the body but also on the mind. The Sanity System measures the mental state of the adventurer, influencing their perception and abilities. The Sanity meter is a crucial aspect of survival, displayed subtly around the edges of the screen, gradually becoming more prominent as sanity wanes.
Sanity Effects:
High Sanity:
Moderate Sanity:
Low Sanity:
Critical Sanity:
Managing Sanity
Light Sources: Staying near bonfires, torches, or other light sources can help maintain sanity. Darkness and isolation accelerate sanity loss.
Resting at Bonfires: Resting at a bonfire fully restores sanity, though it also resets enemies in the world.
Calming Items: Special items like Tranquil Incense, soothing herbs, or enchanted amulets can temporarily boost sanity or slow its depletion.
Avoiding Eldritch Horrors: Prolonged exposure to certain enemies or environments, particularly those filled with dark magic or ancient curses, rapidly drains sanity. It's often wiser to avoid or quickly traverse such areas.
Completing Quests: Successfully completing certain quests or overcoming significant challenges can provide a substantial sanity boost, reflecting the character's growing resilience.
In Eryndor, maintaining one's sanity is as vital as honing combat skills or mastering magic. The constant struggle against the creeping madness adds a layer of tension and strategy, where players must balance their physical and mental well-being to survive the perils of this dark and twisted world.
Leveling System
In Eryndor, the essence of fallen enemies, known as Soul Shards, is the currency of growth and power. These shards are used to level up, unlock traits, learn new spells, acquire skills, gain permanent special effects, and enhance weapon arts. Players can spend Soul Shards at bonfires or with certain NPCs to advance their abilities.

By spending Soul Shards wisely, players can tailor their character to their preferred playstyle, combining raw power with magical prowess, and honing their mental fortitude to withstand the terrors of Eryndor. This deep and flexible leveling system ensures that each adventure is unique, driven by the choices and growth of the adventurer.
The Lore
In the wake of ages past, Eryndor stands as a realm steeped in the echoes of forgotten glory. Once, mighty kingdoms and proud citadels dotted its landscape, each a bastion of power and ambition. Now, centuries have weathered these grandeur ruins into crumbling relics, their walls now home to moss and ivy.
The land itself has changed, shaped by the passage of time and the remnants of ancient magic. Great forests have grown wild and dense, concealing secrets both wondrous and perilous. Rivers carve new paths through valleys once bustling with trade, now quiet and overgrown with nature's reclaiming touch. Mountains, once seen as impassable barriers, now house forgotten tombs and lost treasures.
Cities that once thrived with bustling markets and vibrant culture now lie in ruinous silence, their streets reclaimed by nature or inhabited by creatures that thrive in the shadows. Only whispers and tales remain of the heroes and villains who once shaped Eryndor's destiny, their exploits now woven into myths and legends.
The Lore
Yet, amidst the decay and remnants of past splendor, there are still signs of life. Small villages dot the countryside, their inhabitants eking out a living amidst the remnants of their ancestors' achievements. Scholars and adventurers seek out the ancient mysteries that lie buried beneath the surface, delving into dungeons and forgotten temples in search of lost knowledge and powerful artifacts.
Magic, once wielded by kings and wizards, still lingers in the air, though its power has waned over the centuries. The few who can harness its mysteries are rare and often misunderstood, their abilities both feared and revered.
In this world of faded glory and hidden dangers, the spirit of Eryndor endures. Its landscapes are a testament to the ebb and flow of history, where the shadows of the past intertwine with the possibilities of the future. Adventurers and wanderers still roam its paths, seeking fortune, redemption, or simply the thrill of discovery amidst the remnants of a once-mighty realm.

HP System
In the world of Eryndor, the starting health points (HP) for a nameless knight awakening after the war typically amount to 100.
