detective fear /Au fear inside out/

Fear is lanky and has lavender skin, a long nose, curly hair, thick black eyebrows, and purple eyes. He wears a light blue shirt with white stripes, a houndstooth sweater vest, a magenta bowtie, violet pants, black dress shoes, a dark brown trench coat, and a hat of the same color. In the sequel, he is shown wearing a dark purple onesie and a matching nightcap.

Fear, as the name suggests, is the literal embodiment of the primal feelings of fear and fight or flight. He cares greatly for Riley's safety and well-being and is very concerned about the decisions Riley makes in her life. Unlike the rest of the Emotions, he is cautious, nervous, and distrustful of anything that comes his way, as his job requires him to observe that Riley is adapting well to her current surroundings, as such, he has to consider and assess every possible thing that could put her in danger.

When the other emotions try to take on a more dominant role, Fear tends to be the voice of reason to convince them not to go ahead with potentially risky decisions. Out of a desire to avoid tensions, he is often the peacemaker of the group, wanting Riley to respond appropriately to her parents without causing irritation between them and Riley. However, Fear's uncertainty and cowardice can also cause him to reject decisions that would potentially help Riley.

He is submissive so it is a bit difficult for him to do his job as a detective. Sometimes he gets serious, very nervous and anxious, and he is in contact with other emotions.
