Yo Hiori

Yo Hiori (氷ひ織おり 羊よう, Hiori Yō?) is a contender of Blue Lock, who currently plays as a left offensive midfielder for Bastard München during the Neo Egoist League.

Hiori is a wise but soft-spoken forward prodigy who was trained from birth to solely play football and be the best in the world by his parents, but Hiori with all his talent and intellect is looking for a purpose in life outside of his parents expectations. When first introduced at the beginning of Third Selection he was ranked 27th out of the remaining forwards. He played as a right wing and right back for the Blue Lock Eleven against the Japan U-20 team.

has choppy cyan hair that falls down his face and has soft feminine facial features, similar to Chigiri. His hair is neatly combed to sides with a longer strand of hair falling to one side.

At Blue Lock, Hiori wears the standard-issued body suit (black with gray lines) and tracksuit. During Second Selection, he wore Team Red's #27 jersey. During Third Selection, he wore Team A's black #27 jersey. During the match against the Japan U-20, Hiori dons an official blue colored Blue Lock player uniform with the #16. During the end of Bastard München's third game against Ubers, Hiori wears the team's red, black, and gold kit with the #23.

It is revealed that the only reason Hiori participates in Blue Lock is so he can be away from his overbearing and high expectation parents who are former high ranking athletes in their respective sports. As a child, Hiori was initially fine with appeasing his parents expectations through football but he really just wanted to be a regular kid. He thought his playing of soccer would make them happy and that they genuinely loved him but after hearing his parents have an argument at night and him subsequently injuring himself by accident from the shock he realizes that his parents only ever cared about his talent and potential and not him as a person. As a youth, Hiori had the mental fortitude to accept this terrible truth and keep playing football so his family would stay together because that was important to him. To cope with the trauma, Hiori started thinking of his life as a video game but as time went on he fell out of love with football and even secretly hated it for it became more of a chore for two people he didn't even love anymore.

Hiori is very good at keeping this secret to himself because nobody in Blue Lock except for his former youth teammate, Tabito Karasu knows of his disdain of the sport.

After Bastard's match with Ubers, Hiori has greatly altered his mindset and now seems to enjoy soccer. He wishes to produce the world's best striker so he can play soccer with someone who can sense his "world's best passes", and will leave anyone behind who he vies as "unambitious losers". Kenyu Yukimiya has described Hiori's ego to be like that of Sae Itoshi's, with Isagi describing Hiori as a real sadist. Hiori is also a lot more sociable and outgoing with his friends, as seen when he teased Isagi about how social media was saying that Isagi and Michael Kaiser would make the world's strongest duo, to which Isagi angrily refused.
