He is a demon banished to the human world who resides in the grimoire that originally belonged to Licht and is now in Asta's possession. He is the source of Asta's anti-magic.

Nevertheless, when she dies at Lucifer's hands, his personality seems to change drastically, becoming more sadistic, evil, and disrespectful, willing to do anything to achieve his goals.

Liebe feels a great hatred for the other demons because he has been mistreated by them, believing that all demons are the same and aiming to destroy each and every one of them.

After being defeated and becoming friends with Asta, they grow closer and Liebe becomes a little more sensitive, having a serious and calm attitude, although he also tends to get angry or annoyed by Asta which leads him to scold him.

Liebe was born in the demon world with no mana, which made him a target for the other demons, and his small size made him an easy target. One day, a high-ranking demon threw him at the gates of the human world, intending to kill him. However, because he possessed no magic, he survived and managed to cross over to the human world.

In the human world, people regarded him with fear and contempt for being a demon. One day, high-ranking magic knights left him for dead, but miraculously, he was rescued and healed by Licita, who raised him as her son. One day, while he was with Licita, Lucifer suddenly possessed Liebe's body, intending to take over. However, Licita managed to act in time and absorb his mana. Lucifer managed to pierce her abdomen in the process, mortally wounding her. Before dying, Licita placed Liebe inside Licht's grimoire.
