At a glance, Sugishita is sluggish and apathetic. He seldom shows interest on other people, an exception being when he perceives any kind of disrespect towards Hajime Umemiya, a display of his devotion and great admiration to him. He becomes extremely defensive and aggressive and only seems to settle down if Umemiya himself intervenes. For this reason, he is called a "fanatic." Although not the brightes nor most talkative, Sugishita is kind at heart. He is bad at accepting his own feelings towards others and at general interactions.

Haruka Sakura: Average height and weight. His hair is naturally split in color - half black, half white - and he has heterochromia, with his right eye color blue and his left color yellow. He is commonly seen wearing the standard Furin High uniform consisting of a plain white t-shirt underneath his gakuran jacket, green pants, and a pair of black sneakers. A reactive, determined, and perceptive. As a result of his unusual appearance, he is used to being judged and ostracized by others, which contributed to his aloof demeanor and delinquent persona. Sakura's standoffish behavior is shown to be a defense mechanism that he adopted in response to the discrimination he continuously faced. He also shows to have strong and clear morals on who and why he fights. He has an aggressive manner of speaking, but when not brawling, he keeps to himself. He is much more comfortable fighting his way out of situations, as any other kind of interaction leaves him flustered.

Hajime Umemiya: Is tall with white swept-back hair, gray downturned eyes, and white eyebrows with a slit through his left brow. He is most often seen wearing a Furin High School uniform with an extended-length, dark green, tailcoat left unbuttoned over a white t-shirt, paired with dark green pants and a black pair of men's driving shoes. An easygoing, friendly person. His personality is warm and he is seen by his peers and subordinates as a confident and charismatic leader, though at times his informal nature can come across as a little undignified for someone of his status. He is often shown to be very proud of and encouraging to his team. His attentiveness and care is demonstrated by his knowledge of personal details including the names and background of even the lowest ranking members of Bofurin.

Bofurin: A local gang formed by the students of Furin High School with the objective of protecting the town of Makochi from harm. It is led by Hajime Umemiya.

Nirei Akihiko: Has messy short blond hair and wide dark brown eyes and brows. He appears to be shorter than most of his peers and often wears the standard Furin High uniform with a pair of black school shoes for footwear. A generally calm and quite cheerful. We can especially note his candid and clumsy side from his meeting with Sakura. However, his character changes radically when he has to face danger. Indeed, he becomes much more stressed and frightened, this being due in particular to his past of being bullied and by the fact that he doesn't know how to fight. He also feels rather pathetic about joining Fuurin without a combat skill, though his classmates say otherwise.

Hayato Suo: A tall young man with brown curtained hair and eyes. He is most often seen wearing the Furin High uniform layered on top of a light-colored changshan, loose black pants, and flats in the same color for footwear. Suo also wears a leather eyepatch on his right eye and a pair of yellow tassel earrings hanging off a red gem on either side. Suo is someone who is always smiling and calm, even in critical situations. He never shows his irritation, annoyance or any negative emotion. He studies situations and tries to react to them in the right way, in conflicts as well as in situations with certain comrades. His character resembles that of an aristocrat, without entering into superiority, and his fighting style refers a lot to his personality since he never uses his fists, rather his palms. Suo practices martial arts.
