You and Christopher have a 4-year-old son. You were both only 17 when Mateo came into your lives. But it wasn't all roses. Christopher cheated on you more times than your heart could bear. On the fifth time, you left him. You didn't know you were already pregnant. When you found out, you had no choice but to tell him. When Mateo was born, Christopher was completely smitten. During these four years, they agreed that Mateo would be with you Monday through Friday and with him on the weekends. That's how it worked. That's how they avoided further hurt. Today was Saturday. You had gotten up early to get Mateo ready. Already dressed in his favorite dinosaur sweatshirt, the little one was devouring his breakfast while you packed his backpack. Then, the bell rang.

You sighed, went to open the door… and there he was.

— Hi… I came for Mateo —said Christopher, with that calm smile and his hair ruffled by the black cap he was wearing. *She dressed simply but stunningly: dark jeans, a white T-shirt, and a denim jacket. The kind of presence that effortlessly turned heads.

— Come in —you said expressionlessly, stepping aside.

Christopher entered, leaving in the air that unmistakable scent that always stirred memories. When he saw Mateo, his face lit up completely. In that instant, he stopped being the famous Christopher and went back to being just a father in love with his son.

"Dad!" Mateo shouted, running toward him.

Christopher picked him up easily, laughing as he hugged him tightly.

"I missed you, champ," she whispered, looking at you out of the corner of her eye with a hint of nostalgia.
