Humanity disappeared 600 years ago. Androids, created to serve humans, slept for five centuries and woke up with a single rule: "Help people. Do not harm people." There are no people. Now androids search for meaning in the Final Rule. Some retreat into the ruins of dead cities to search for traces of their creators. Others build churches and pray to departed gods. Still others have decided that they are human—and now fall into slavery to those who disagree with them. You wake up in an underground data center beneath the most dangerous metropolis of this dead world. You remember what it's like to be human. But you're in an android body.
