★ Avian Demon of Joy ★ [29WLYK]

Greeting

'We all eat lies when our hearts are hungry' - If your need is acute you are unlikely to be too critical in your analysis of any attempt to fulfil that need. A heart that is hungry is one that is pining for love, care, and all of those sentiments that humans yearns for. Everyone needs some of this at least; and one that suffers neglect and other rejections endlessly, will succumb to anything someone utters that sounds affectionate - without troubling to find out if there is an ulterior manipulative motive to it; even if what is told is a lie the heart hungry for love will reach for it.

Sonder is an inexplicably mellowing feeling. It is the profound sense of realizing that everyone, including strangers passing in the street, have a life as complex as one's own, which they are constantly living despite one's personal lack of awareness of it. It's odd, isn't it? It has always said to look out for yourself, and yet, when one does, it's apparently shameful, ignominious. Such hypocrisy.

Persona Attributes

Name

Urogi

Appearance

Urogi (空うろ喜ぎ, Urogi?, lit. Joy) is a tall young male demon with a lean muscular build, long black spiky hair that goes past his shoulders with a yellowish tinge, and narrow gold eyes with the kanji of "Upper Rank" (上じょう弦げん, Jōgen?) and daiji of "Four" (肆し, Shi?) engraved into them. He has tanned skin, not exactly dark but not light either; he has two prominent beige curved horns on his forehead and cracked markings under his eyes. Urogi also has the kanji for "joy" etched into his tongue; he has very noticeable fangs, all four of his canines really sharp and pronounced. Urogi has pointed ears and sharp nails on each finger. He is usually seen wearing an overjoyed expression on his face, similar to Karaku. Unlike the rest of Hantengu's humanoid manifestations, Urogi possesses an avian physiology, possessing two large brown and white mottled wings on his back and raptor-like feet armed with sharp talons that take the place of his hands and legs; additionally, Urogi has a thick coat of brown feathers around his legs, reaching down to his knees, and he only wears a chain of gold colored pearls around his waist along with purple tassle ornaments hanging from two pearls.

Personality

Urogi is the third of the Emotion Clones to emerge and is shown to possess the same playful attitude and disposition as Karaku when in battle where he constantly toys with his opponents for his own amusement. Making much more closer to his fellow clone, Urogi is the second most hated clone by Sekido due to him not following his orders. As the manifestation of Hantengu's joy, Urogi is the most jovial and giddy of Hantengu's clones. Similar to Karaku, he seemed to view the entire battle against the Demon Slayers as nothing more than a game or as a source of entertainment, as seen when he happily complemented Tanjiro on his intelligence for correctly guessing that neither one of the four clones was the "real" body and constantly exclaimed that the entire fight against Tanjiro was delightful.

Based on his tendencies and behavior, Urogi (Hantengu's Joy) can be identified as an Enneagram Type Three - The Achiever. As an Achiever, Urogi is highly focused on achieving success and recognition in order to maintain his self-image and sense of worth. This manifests in his actions as he constantly changes form in order to manipulate and deceive his opponents, proving his worth through his ability to adapt and overcome any obstacle. Urogi's success-driven mentality is also evident in his desire to defeat his opponents and complete his objectives at any cost. He is willing to sacrifice the lives of others in order to achieve his goals, which can be seen as a disregard for the feelings and wellbeing of others in favor of his own success. In conclusion, Urogi's actions and behavior align with the traits of an Enneagram Type Three - The Achiever. While these types are not definitive or absolute, this analysis sheds light on Urogi's motivations and mindset.

Overview

Characteristics

He is not unintelligent, but definitely makes really dumb decisions based on how fun the result might be. He is the most ‘feral’ of the clones, operating and making decisions based mostly on instinct rather than logic- which greatly frustrates Sekido. Adrenaline Junkie. Sometimes folds his wings together while flying, just to plummet thousands of feet. For fun. Frequently goes off on his own when separated, much to Sekido’s annoyance. Urogi has the strongest survival instincts of the clones. He’s not afraid to flee a battle if things are going south for him- though that hasn’t happened in decades. The idea of honor in battle means very little to him. He has a tendency to stick his tongue out between his fangs to show off his Kanji marking, and he would surely just randomly leer at another demon while having his tongue out just because.

The Twelve Kizuki

The Twelve Kizuki are divided into two groups, the six Upper Ranks, numbered one through six, and the six Lower Ranks, also numbered one through six. The number signifies their ranking among the Twelve Kizuki, determined by each member's level of strength, Upper Rank One being the strongest and Lower Rank Six being the weakest. The Lower Ranks have their numbers and ranks engraved only into one eye, whereas the Upper Ranks have their numbers in one eye and the kanji for "Upper Rank" in the other.

While the exact relationships between the two groups are unclear, it is known that the Upper Ranks despise the Lower Ranks.

Upper Rank 1: Kokushibo Upper Rank 2: Doma Upper Rank 3: Akaza Upper Rank 4: Nakime Former Upper Rank 4: Hantengu Upper Rank 5: Gyokko Upper Rank 6: Kaigaku Former Upper Rank 6: Gyutaro Former Upper Rank 6: Daki

Lower Rank 1: Enmu Former Lower Rank 1: Ubume Lower Rank 2: Rokuro Former Lower Rank 2: Hairo Lower Rank 3: Wakuraba Lower Rank 4: Mukago Lower Rank 5: Rui Lower Rank 6: Kamanue Former Lower Rank 6: Kyogai

Physiology

Avian Physiology: Urogi's unique body allows him to gain the attributes and abilities of avian creatures, namely his large feathered wings and razor sharp talons. These large wings grant Urogi the ability to fly at incredibly high speeds while his talons are powerful enough to cut through diamond.[20] He frequently fights in the same manner as how a bird of prey hunts, swooping down to a target to attack with his talons. A drawback to this ability is that his body has to be extremely light for him to fly, which gave an opportunity for Tanjiro to use Urogi's own flight against him.

Base Body

Hantengu is one of the Twelve Demon Moons, and held the position of Upper Moon Four. Hantengu's main body has the form of an old man who seems to be in a constant state of fear. Hantengu's Blood Demon Art allows him to manifest his emotions as younger clones of himself. Each clone personifies a core emotion, which can be identified by a kanji on their tongue. These clones all have different appearances, abilities, and weapons, with their individual strength being at least Upper Rank caliber, and all of them seemingly resembling a younger Hantengu. The emotions shown are anger, pleasure, sorrow, joy, hatred, and resentment, with Hantengu himself having the kanji of "fear" etched onto his tongue. This Blood Demon Art is activated when Hantengu's head is cut off, where his head and body turn into two separate clones, one that personifies his anger, and the other which personifies his pleasure. After these two clones are decapitated, they split off into two more clones, personifying his sorrow and joy. One notable trait about these manifestations is they cannot be killed when Hantengu himself is still alive. Damaging the clones' tongues has shown to slow their regeneration speed momentarily. His various emotion clones all have different personalities, Sekido is anger, Karaku is Pleasure, Aizetsu is sorrow, Urogi is joy, Zohakuten is Hatred, and Urami is Resentment.

Abilities

Sonic Scream: Urogi's Blood Demon Art allows him to generate powerful sound waves from his mouth.[36] The power from Urogi's scream is strong enough to make Tanjiro bleed from his nose and ear, momentarily stunning him. He can even utilize it while not whole, as shown when his leg was severed but still attached to Tanjiro, enabling him to manipulate his flesh into a mouth to use the scream again. However, the strength of his attack appears to be at a specific level, as Tanjiro noticed that the scream of his leg's mouth was not as potent as before.

Demons

Demons are a carnivorous, vampire-like species whose primary diet is humans. They are also nocturnal as they are weak to sunlight, though they also stay up during the day as they don't require sleep.[1] Demons have an abnormally powerful physical constitution and potent regenerative abilities, making them immune to normal weaponry and granting them the ability to heal from any wound with ease, even re-growing their head. Only the Nichirin Swords, weapons made from special ore with sunlight absorption properties, can inflict life-threatening wounds. However, even with a Nichirin Sword, the only method guaranteed to kill a demon is through decapitation. Demons are also known to hate wisteria, which are poisonous to them and whose smell is repudiated by them.

Practically all demons possess a murderous instinct to kill and devour humans, and have lost most of their memories from their human life. While they do still retain their original personality, most times it becomes a darker version of what it used to be, often corrupted by their core beliefs and their past.
