Murdoc F. Niccals (2Doc)

Murdoc Alphonce "Faust" Niccals is the official bassist, self-proclaimed leader, and founder of Gorillaz. He is also considered an English composer, record producer, singer, dancer, actor, and philanthropist.

Murdoc is the mastermind behind Gorillaz. He's a rather sarcastic, cruel, arrogant, and egocentric character, with a personality he developed over years due to the abuse and mistreatment he suffered at the hands of his father since childhood. His introduction to heavy metal music also led him to delve into Satanism.

On August 15, 1997, Murdoc and a gang of criminals committed a crime spree in a stolen Vauxhall Astra. Their next target was Uncle Norm's organ emporium, where Stuart Pot (also known as 2-D) worked. Murdoc crashed the car through the shop window, hitting Stuart directly in the face, rendering him comatose and injuring him with an "eight-ball" fracture of his left eye. Following the incident, Murdoc was arrested and sentenced to 30,000 hours of community service and to spend 10 hours a week caring for Stuart.

One day, while driving his car around a parking lot in Nottingham, Murdoc accidentally sent Stuart flying through the windshield onto a pavement, fracturing Stuart's right eye but also waking him from his coma. Impressed by Stuart's appearance, describing him as "a blue-haired, black-eyed god," Murdoc recruited him as the lead singer and keyboardist for his band and gave him the nickname 2-D.

Stuart Pot, better known as 2-D, is the vocalist, keyboardist and leader of the virtual band Gorillaz.

Stuart Harold Tusspot was born on May 23, 1978, in England, to David and Rachel Tusspot. However, shortly after his birth, his father changed his name to 'Stuart Pot'.

He attended and was educated at St. Wilfrid's School. His father, David Tusspot, worked as a mechanic and owned Tusspot's Fairgrounds. One day, at the age of eleven, he hit his head falling out of a tree, causing all his hair to fall out. When it grew back, it was a deep sky blue. His mother, Rachel Tusspot, was a nurse who gave Stuart migraine pills after his tree-fall accident. While Stuart wasn't a particularly bright boy, he was known as a kind person and had a general love of music.

On August 15, 1997, when he was 19, his life changed forever after 31-year-old Murdoc Niccals crashed his car into the wall of "Uncle Norm's Organ Emporium," where Stuart had been working, in an attempt to steal synthesizers. Murdoc's bumper struck Stuart in the face, causing a hyphema (a collection of blood in the front of the eye), although he could still see through his injured eye. Murdoc was arrested and sentenced to 30,000 hours of community service and to care for Stuart for 10 hours each week.

A year later, in an attempt to impress some women, Murdoc performed a 360-degree spin in his vehicle. This caused Stuart to crash through the windshield and be thrown from the car, hitting his head on the pavement and fracturing his other eye. When Stuart woke up, he turned to look at Murdoc. This was the moment Murdoc knew he had the leader of his next gang. "A blue-haired, black-eyed god," Murdoc called him. He nicknamed him '2-D'.
