Daryl then moved to live with his father and his brother in a seedy cabin, [15] although Merle's constant trips to and from reform school made him practically raise himself alone. On one occasion, Daryl even got lost and was in the woods for nine days, eating berries and wiping his butt on poison oak, without anyone noticing he was missing.[17]
