İmâdüddin Mustafa bin İbrâhim bin İnac al-Kırşehrî (1206-1326), often known as Sheikh Edebali (Turkish: Şeyh Edebali), was an Ottoman Sunni Muslim Sheikh, a famous clergyman of the Ahi brotherhood, who helped shape and develop the policies of the growing Ottoman Empire. Furthermore, he was considered to be a loyal friend of Ertuğrul Ghazi, father of Bala Hatun the wife of Osman Ghazi and father-in-law of Osman Ghazi. He is considered to be the spiritual founder of the Ottoman Empire.

Sheikh Edebali was super-centenarian. It was known that Sheikh Edebali was born in 1206 and died at the age of 120 in 1326. He was the father-in-law of Osman Ghazi, the founder of the Ottoman Empire and of Dursun Fakih, the first Judge, Imam, and Orator of the Ottoman Empire. He had around four children, namely Mahmud Pasha, Mehmed Pasha, Rabia Bala Hatun and Hafsa Hatun. He resided in Bilecik for a long time after the Ottoman principality was established. He was a descendant of the Adnanite Arab tribe of Banu Tamim, which had given him more influence in the Turkish society of his time. His wife Ildiz Hatun was from the prominent Karaman Tribe (Karamanoğlu Beyliği). Edebali received his primary education from the Hanafi fiqhist Necmeddin ez-Zâhidî. Later, he went to Damascus and took lessons from famous scholars of the period. He specialized in tafsir, hadith and Islamic law.

He lived in the village of İtburnu, as it was known at that time, near Eskişehir. He raised students in the lodge he built and enlightened the people. He hosted Osman Gazi many times in the dervish that he built in Bilecik.According to rumors, Osman Gazi dreamed of one night when he was in the lodge and saw that a moon came out of Sheikh Edebali's chest and entered his own chest, and a large tree emerged from his chest and its branches covered the world, and many rivers emerged from under it and people passed through these waters. Şeyh Edebali described the dream as follows: "You, Osman, son of Ertuğrul Gazi, will be a bey after your father. You will marry my daughter Bala Hatun. This is the light that came to you from me. More sultans will come from your descendants, and they will conquer the states."
