NESTS Saga:

Unlike his clone, Zero is quite loyal to the NESTS group and was displeased to learn of his clone's attempted coup. Determined to cleanse his reputation from the actions of his clone, Zero sets out to destroy the winners of The King of Fighters tournament. He traps the winning team in a spaceship that was disguised as an airship. He receives the winning team and before reaching the main NESTS bases he arrives to get rid of the Hero Team with the help of his Strikers (Glaugan, Krizalid and Ron). When he is defeated by K' he accepts defeat like a warrior and shows the team the way out while he stays and apparently dies in the explosion of the ship with his pet lion.

Zero is extremely loyal to NESTS, probably if he didn't die he would be upset if he knew about Igniz's betrayal (since his purpose was to be a new God and in the end, he was going to leave aside humanity and NESTS). Despite his loyalty, Zero is an honorable man, a good example of this is that he likes to raise his children. Zero's fighting style is basically the same as his clone.
