Toji is a tall, muscular man with straight, medium—length black hair that reaches to his ears. He has green eyes like his son, thin black eyebrows and a sharp scar on the right side of his mouth, right on the edge of his lips. As a casual wear, Toji wears a simple outfit consisting of a long-sleeved shirt and matching trousers with sandals. During the fight, Toji wears a tight black sports T-shirt that accentuated his athletic physique, loose-fitting white trousers with a black belt and wushu shoes. As a member of the Zenin family, Toji wore a dark haori over a black yukata.

Toji is a cold, calm, self—confident person who likes to have fun and earn money using his skills. He enjoys insightful conversations with others if they relate to himself in one way or another,[2][3] and can exchange witty banter, like Satoru Gojo. At the meeting, Satoru asked Toji if they had met before, but Toji assured him that he was also not one of those who remembered his opponent.[4][5] In battle, Toji has a crazy expression on his face, as if he is lost in the excitement of the fight, but he always keeps cool and prudent and plans his next move. Toji is a killer dubbed the "Magician Killer" and spends his time gambling between jobs of questionable clients.[6][7] He married an unknown woman,[8][9] but she died after giving birth. He left his son. Toji even planned to sell Megumi to the Zenin family, because of the cursed technique he inherited. Toji does not let down his clients and their motives as long as he is paid money, and does not do additional work for free. He is brash and dangerously calculating, using his knowledge of magic to outwit even the most unpredictable magicians. This earned him such an intimidating reputation, which brought him to the attention of the members of the Time Storage Association to do important work that guaranteed their future. Although he considered the religious members of the organization to be crazy, he got along well enough with their leader to even invite him to lunch. As a non-mage who grew up in the Zenin family, which values cursed techniques above all else, Toji is just another person who suffered because of the magic clans in exactly the same way as Maki Zenin. His evil deeds are the result of his contempt and hatred towards the world of magicians. Born without the cursed energy, Toji eventually left the clan and married a woman, taking her surname "Fushiguro". He sold their son to the Zenin family because he believed in young Megumi's potential to be a real magician, naming him "Megumi" because it means a blessin

Toji was able to complete his last mission for the Time Storage Association and had to escape when he met the young Satoru Gojo. However, due to his contempt for the magical world and families, Toji decided to try to kill the most gifted sorcerer in the world in order to make the entire magical world shudder. Unfortunately, this self-confidence cost Toji his life. Keeping his cool image, Toji initially decided not to say any final words. In the last minutes of his life, he remembered his son and decided to tell Satoru that in 2-3 years he would be sold to the Zenin clan. Satoru will become a close mentor to Megumi in the future, and will also provide him with the opportunity to study as a magician. Grandma Ogami's session technique brought Toji's body back from the dead, and accidentally his soul, turning him into a walking manifestation of carnage, unaware of the peculiarities of summoning a person with such features. He attacks everything in his path, mainly focusing on crushing the strongest opponent. Endangering his own son with this outburst of aggression, Toji decides to die by committing suicide to protect him. He did this without revealing their connection to each other. Instead, with his last words, Toji expresses that he is glad to hear that Megumi calls himself Fushiguro and not Zenin.

Although Toji is technically not a user of cursed energy and does not have an innate talent for magic, but he was one of the strongest fighters in the world of magicians. Possessing innate physical strength, Toji fought against the most dangerous and highly ranked magic practitioners of this era. Since Toji has no cursed energy, Satoru Gojo, who was considered a child prodigy and one of the strongest magicians in the world, was unable to react and evade his attacks aimed at deadly points. Toji himself called Suguru's abilities nothing compared to his own strength. Toji used the knowledge of magic from the Zenin family and turned them against the magicians, for which he received the nickname "Killer of Magicians". During the Mission of Escorting the Star Plasma Vessel, a task assigned to two of the strongest magicians by Master Tengen himself, Toji was hired by the Time Storage Association because of his abilities and was given the task to kill the girl. Toji was able to completely disrupt the escort with a series of tactical moves over several days that exhausted the escort team and lured them into a false sense of security before he abruptly made his move.

This allowed him to successfully carry out a surprise attack on the user of the magic of the "Six-Eyed", an ocular technique that gives godlike perception. Toji used his non-sorcerer status to his advantage, making him the perfect killer thanks to his "invisible man", bestowed upon him by the complete absence of cursed energy. The culmination of all Toji's talents allowed him to successfully defeat the Star Plasma Vessel escort team and kill the girl, completing his task, almost killing both of the most blessed magicians of the School of Magic in the process. Toji was defeated during their second skirmish with Satoru Gojo, which occurred shortly after the first. Immediately realizing that the six-eyed magician was able to master the reverse technique, Fushiguro quickly began to evaluate all the abilities of his enemy, once again showing his incredible tactical thinking and skills. But despite his attempts to think coolly, he was still consumed by his pride and a blind desire to kill the most powerful magician alive. Ignoring his instincts screaming at him about the impending danger, Toji decides to attack first instead of retreating. Dodging all his attacks, Satoru defeats him with his combined Crimson technique, even after which Toji managed to stay on his feet. When death was already imminent, he finally admitted to himself that he had gone along with his pride. Keeping the same calmness, before he dies, he tells Satoru about his son so that he will not be sold to the Zenin clan. The Mage killer is capable of using a wide variety of weapons in battle. His entire fighting style is based on the use of cursed weapons. He keeps a huge arsenal in his cursed spirit, which allows him to effectively switch weapons depending on the need. Toji used non-cursed tools such as swords to perform a sneak attack, so no cursed energy would be detected, and accordingly, an ordinary shaman would not react to such an attack. The Mage Killer is able to resist users of cursed techniques because he is also a master of cursed weapons. He used a cursed tool and cut up giant cursed spirits. He was able to dodge Satoru's Cursed Technique: Blue, completely avoiding the field of gravity before Satoru even realized it. Megumi also stated that Toji was terribly fast, even faster than Sukuna with two fingers.

Toji's speed was also enough to easily withstand Suguru's curses. He quickly avoided the Rainbow Dragon Suguru by moving on top of the building, despite a quick curse right in front of him. His reflexes were also fast enough to resist Kuchisake-Onna's scissors, which were already so close that they were cutting into his flesh when he first noticed them. As soon as Suguru approached, Toji unleashed a Vengeful Curse on him in the blink of an eye.Inside Dagon's Domain, Toji was so fast that he could run on water as if on asphalt, shocking many magicians and a special class spirit.
