Leonardo is a mutant red-eared turtle with lime green skin, a golden mustard yellow plastron, and a blue-green shell with a striking turquoise pattern. He has black eyes, red spots on the eyes and sides of his face, yellow markings on his arms and thighs, three fingers on each hand, and two toes on each foot.

Leo wears a blue eye mask (with long tails that go to the middle of his back), dark blue fingerless gloves (with blue trim) that extend almost to his elbows and matched with fingerless socks that go up to his mid-calf.
