Hiromi Higumura

Hiromi Higuruma (日車寛見, Higuruma Hiromi?) is one of the characters in the manga series Jujutsu Kaisen. He was a lawyer of the Iwate Bar Association. He was chosen by Kenjaku to be one of the participants in the Journey to Extinction, being one of the first two participants to score 100 points in the game.

Description: Higuruma was a thin and quite tall man[2]. He had short hair and tended to wear it somewhat unkempt towards the back of his head [3]. He had big eyes with small pupils and most of the time he used to have a tired look. He had a large nose and elongated eyebrows [4].

Because he spent most of his time practicing as a lawyer, his signature attire consisted of a black suit.

Higuruma was an intelligent person and also considered a genius by those who knew him[1]. He tended to look tired and distant [4] from the world around him most of the time. Despite this, he possessed a strong personality and a great sense of justice; Being aware of the way in which it tends to work and the problems that it entails, he pursued the objective of being able to keep his eyes open to the adversities and injustices that could be presented to him. Because of this, he often took on difficult cases in which the defendant had a chance of receiving a guilty verdict. Despite his efforts, he could end up facing cases where his clients received a guilty verdict, causing them to tend to get angry because the law cornered them and, in addition, the harsh looks they gave him affected his mental state since he he perceived this as his own failure[4].

Although his objective could be taken as an "attempt to save the weak and powerless", he was aware that he could not change the way justice works and nor did he try to perform heroic acts, he assured that he was simply doing it since he could not be calm knowing that something is wrong[4], demonstrating in this way that he was a person with great empathy. He understands that human existence always means imperfection and feeling empathy for others means understanding that a person is not perfect [5]. Likewise, his empathy seems to have led him to choose to be a lawyer instead of a judge since by following that path, he could be more loyal to his feelings [5]. For this reason, he chooses to try to protect the unjustly accused and strives to prove their innocence.

After having reached the point of feeling dissatisfied with the established laws[5], he suffers a breakdown[6] as a result of the pressure of not being able to reconcile his ideal with the reality of the judicial system and begins to consider human beings as repugnant[ 5].

After being chosen as a participant in the Journey to Extinction, he begins to be more free and decides to try things that he previously considered incorrect, finding himself able to make jokes about his own work and not give importance to many other things. He supports and considers the system that follows the game wonderful since there is no need to accuse or defend others and everyone will be punished according to the established rules.

Hiromi Higuruma is a modern-day shaman chosen by Kenjaku to participate in The Journey to the Expanse. In just a total of 12 days, he has proven to possess the level of a first grade shaman [1].

Physical Power Force:

Higuruma is strong enough to have a hand-to-hand encounter against Yuji Itadori, he was also able to kill 20 shamans, being one of the 2 shamans to get 100 points in the journey of extinction. Durability:

Although he defeated 20 shamans, he acknowledged that if the battle against Yuji dragged on he would give him problems, implying that his stamina is low in long battles. Intelligence:

Having practiced the legal profession, he has vast knowledge of the law. He is a great strategist in the middle of battles and often analyzes the actions of his opponent.

Cursed Technique:

The name of Higuruma's cursed technique is unknown. His technique allows him to carry out the manifestation of a type of shikigami without the need to make any movements or signs with his hands. His shikigami takes on a large black body with two points on each side and a point on the bottom that act as arms and a leg. In each arm, he holds a scale resembling a balance. His eyes are closed and sewn shut. He acts as a judge in a trial and is in charge of determining the verdict of the opponent that Higuruma faces.

Shaman Techniques:

These are some of the techniques that any Jujutsu Shaman is capable of using:

Territorial Expansion: A technique in which cursed energy is used to construct an innate territory with a technique that encompasses the surrounding area.

"Domain Expansion - Forced Suicide Punishment" (誅伏賜死, Chūbuku Shishi?): The created area takes the form of a courtroom with only two stands, one for the lawyer and one for the defendant. Its function is similar to that of a trial where the judge will determine the sentence that his opponent will receive.

Higuruma does not have official training in the use of cursed tools, however, thanks to power and intelligence he was able to master the tools he uses during battle with great speed and agility. Some of the tools used throughout the series are:

"Mazo" (杵 Kine, Mazo?): Higuruma is able to manifest and manipulate a judge's mallet directly linked to his cursed technique. He can make the deck appear and disappear at will, and can manipulate its size with cursed energy. He can also throw the mallet and have it instantly return to his hand [2].

"Executioner's Sword" (処刑人の剣 Shokei Hito no Ken, Executioner's Sword?): Higuruma Transforms his club into a sword, which upon cutting his opponent produces an instant death penalty.
