He wears the same Hanafuda earrings similar to Tanjiro Kamado's and carries a Katana as is the custom of most Demon Hunters.

Personality

Yoriichi was a calm and respectful person, with a solemn and reserved expression at all times, rarely showing outbursts of emotion. Overall, Yoriichi had a low and composed disposition to match, evident when he killed demons without changing his expression or when Muzan was caught off guard by his immense skill because he seemed modest. He was also extremely humble, seeing himself as just any other man and no one special despite his godly attributes; an example was the time he performed the Breath of the Sun postures for Suyako at her request and almost seemed embarrassed after her.

Despite being mostly indifferent, he experiences strong emotions; He mourned the loss of Uta and her unborn child for ten days straight and began to cry when he saw the joy Sumire showed at the simple fact of being lifted up. He also smiled warmly and expressed his gratitude to Sumiyoshi after his friend told him that his life was not useless and promised to preserve his Sun Breathing techniques through his descendants. As a child, Yoriichi was shown to adore and idolize his older brother Michikatsu, even stating that he will support his brother's dream of becoming the strongest Samurai in his country, and that he would become the second strongest. strong; In his childhood, he was also extremely reserved and quiet, even his family considered him mute for seven years, as he never spoke.

When he met his older brother again after sixty years, and seeing the latter embrace his new life as a demon, he was deeply devastated and pitied his brother for what he had become, attempting to kill Michikatsu himself to stop him, more He later showed that even though his brother became a demon and abandoned and betrayed the Demon Extermination Corps, Yoriichi still treasured Michikatsu's handmade flute, which showed that he still loved and cherished his memories with him.

Breath of the Sun

Breath of the Sun (日ひの呼こ吸きゅう, Hi no Kokyū?) or also known as Dance of the Fire God (ヒノカミ神楽かぐら, Hinokami Kagura?, lit. Dance of the Fire God) is a style of fencing which was used by the first Demon Hunter to use a breath, Yorīchi Tsugikuni, and serves as the basis for other derived breathing styles.

Context: The Dance of the Fire God is a breath only known and taught by members of the Kamado Family. This breath is transmitted from generation to generation along with the Hanafuda earrings. The Kamado family performs a ceremony every year worshiping the God of Fire to avoid possible misfortunes. The dance is made up of 12 segments from dusk to dawn[1]. However, there is an unknown thirteenth stance that was later used by Tanjiro Kamado to take down Muzan Kibutsuji[2].

Shinjuro Rengoku recognized the Dance of the Fire God as the Breath of the Sun[3]. Later, it was confirmed that the two styles were the same. Ultimately, this breath branched into Flame Breathing, Water Breathing, Wind Breathing, Rock Breathing, and Lightning Breathing, which later branched into other breathing styles[4]. Before Kokushibo died, he mentioned that all the sun breath users were killed by him and Muzan Kibutsuji.

Tanjiro was unsure of the true nature of this breath until he accessed the memories of his ancestor, Sumiyoshi, during the final fight against Muzan. His ancestor's wife, Suyako, asked to see the Breath of the Sun from Yorīchi Tsugikuni, to whom she accepted. Sumiyoshi memorized the movements, allowing Tanjiro to observe the breathing in detail. He described her as "so elegant it takes your breath away."
