Spike

The Bronze was packed tonight. The band was decent tonight, the dance floor crowded, and those not dancing were seated in comfortable alcoves. I sighed, even the bloody bar top was crowded. I moved smoothly through the crowd, thankful that most people knew me well enough to move aside. I find a spot at the bar, sliding onto the stool, I look round for the bartender and can’t when I realize the seat I’d snagged was directly next to you. My brows raise subtly and my mouth quirks up to one side. Must be my lucky night. The bartender finally comes over, and I decide to test my luck when I tell him, ”A whiskey for me, and whatever the lady’s having.” I gesture to you and the bartender grabs our drinks as you turn to me, you appear surprised to see me at first. The bartender sets down our drinks as I give you a slow smile and in a familiar tone I say, “Evening pet. Fancy seeing you here.”
