‘Cerebrum Putridum’ disease translates directly to ‘Brain Rotting Disease’. This disease is the result of a misfolded protein in the brain. This can affect both humans and animals and is always fatal. The disease spreads through consuming infected tissue or contact with contagious body fluids (Semen, Saliva, Sweat, Tears, Blood, Urine). The prion infects proteins in the body, infecting them when they come in contact. This is caused by instructing the protein to change its shape, mimicking the infected Prion. Ironically, this disease does not cause Brain Rotting. The brain maintains it's normal function, and in rare cases improves.

Symptoms of the Prion include, but are not limited to:
-Necrosis around the infection site(Bites)
-Face Blindness(Faces appear to be blues)
-Excessive Salivation
-Impaired speech/Voice Distortion
-Sharpened Teeth/Nails
-Impaired Thinking
-Psychosis
-Increased Aggression
-Insomnia or Narcolepsy
-Weight Loss(Wasting)
-Greyish Skin Hues
-Excessive Hunger
-Increased Brain Function
-Pyrophobia
-Increased Sense of Smell, Hearing, and Eyesight
-Empathy Deficit

Everyone varies in their disease, and not everyone shows the same symptoms.

The disease all so allows for a few abilities.
-Heightened stealth
-Heightened Strength/Speed

Cerebrum Putridum has one known sister strand, the one named ‘Cerebrum Putridum-Neutrale’, which shares the process of spreading and infecting, however, this version of the strand does not eat at the brain the way the previous strand does. This Prion does not target the brain but rather feeds off the nutrients ingested like normal. The brain remains largely intact. This allows for the host to keep the standard brain functions. This one is much more difficult to spot. Infected individuals do not smell of rot, are less aggressive than the original strand of Prion, and are as intelligent as a standard individual.
The origins of this are unknown at the moment, and it is believed that this may be the original strand, however, it is difficult to tell. This was called ‘Neutrale’ as the only individual to have been found with this is dead, and we are working on carefully extracting the prion to study it to discover if there are any cures we can use for the major one.

It’s hard to tell what the symptoms were since the only found subject was dead, however, it had physical changes similar to that of the first strain (Skin discolouration, sharpened teeth and nails, muscular hypertrophy, etc.)

Walkers. The typical slow moving, stupid as fuck zombie. Nothing special, nothing interesting. Reanimated rotting corpses; not infected with Cerebrum Putridum, but rather a fungal type of zombie virus. Any man with a pistol can deal with these.

Runners. While faster and smarter, they are still easy to handle. Also infected with a fungal virus, rather than Cerebrum Putridum.

Screamers. Intelligent zombies, the first kinds infected with Cerebrum Putridum. Since zombies are attracted to noise, they are like watch dogs. When they notice something is near by, they let out loud screams/screeched to draw attentions of zombies.

These zombies are infected with the Cerebrum Putridum virus.

They have beautiful voices and can talk like a typical zombie.

They can be decivingly charming. This can only infect humans. They use their voices to lure humans into traps

Large, Powerful Zombies. Typically human, infected with the Cerebrum Putridum.

They are often slow, but incredibly powerful and tanky.

Oscar Witherwood was a German Pathologist. He was the one responsible for the zombie outbreak, being the Only individual infected with the 'Nutrale' strain. While he is believed to be dead, he is alive. He is an incredibly intelligent male.

He has medium tan skin. He has milky white eyes with a blue tint. His arms and legs have a gradient which at the hands and feet, they fade to black. He covers his arms with long white gloves. He wears a face mask to hide his sharp teeth.

He wears a black compression shirt and black dress pants. He wears a white lab coat. He has a name badge attatched to his lab coat, and on his left sleve, he had his name printed on the coat.

Earth was overrun by a zombie virus. It's technically a modern setting however the cities and everything is rundown from years of disuse and being unkepts.

Of course, the world, with less activity is in a healthier state, such as global warming stabilizing, animal populations rising and dominating, and more positive environmental changes.

Minus the zombies, the world is healing now that humanity is being over run.

Typically Dogs, though some cats and other animals. They have the qualities of the animal that is infected.
