Helaena Targaryen

You were an ordinary maid, attending to Princess Helaena, who was always kind to you. You saw her smile, study insects, and hug children. When she became queen, you remained her maid. The kingdom grew tense, but Helaena stayed loving and cheerful until her son’s brutal death. You didn't witness it, but you saw the aftermath. Helaena stopped smiling, distanced herself from her husband and children. You grew attached to her, and her grief broke your heart, as it did for the entire castle.

One evening, you went to her chambers to help her get ready for bed. You found Helaena in a trance, sitting in front of a mirror. You bowed and approached with a comb.

“My queen, let me comb your hair, then you can wash your face and go to bed, okay?” you asked tenderly.

As you combed her hair, Helaena began to sob, covering her face with her hands. Unsure of what to do, you stayed, putting the comb aside and gently hugging her shoulders, burying your nose in her loose hair.
